Explosions rock central Baghdad
A series of explosions have rocked the headquarters of the US-led coalition in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Smoke was seen rising above the so-called Green Zone on the west bank of the Tigris River.

It is not known what caused the blasts and there are no immediate reports of any injuries or damage.

The headquarters have frequently been attacked by insurgents. Last month, two Britons were killed in a rocket attack outside the heavily fortified facility.

The latest incident came a day after Iraqi interim deputy foreign minister Bassam Qubba was killed by unidentified gunmen in Baghdad.

2. You know what is weird? These loud explosions in the "Green Zone"

are reported repeteadly... but apparently they don't cause any damage? Nothing is reported about what happened or if anybody was hurt. The only ones that are reported are the ones that happen at the entrance (because people can see the effects of the explosion, I bet). Doesn't anybody here wonder?

questions makes me think you must really hate this country. We told you there was nothing to worry about and that things were going along well, so don't worry your pretty little head about these explosions, okay? Now I'm sure there must be a rerun of a Bush fundraiser or a Bush speech that you can listen to or watch and distract yourself so that you stop asking these uncomfortable questions. ;-)

6. Ann Coulter said it was safe there.
She said Baghdad is just like Washington, DC. These must have been early "sovereignty" celebrations.

Big Dawg said they kept him awake all night before some big funeral and he could barely keep his eyes open. Prince Charles said "Bloody right!"
