9/11 Report: 10-Plane Attack Was Planned
(AP) - Sept. 11 plot mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed originally envisioned an attack involving 10 hijacked planes with himself as the pilot of one in which all male passengers would be killed and he would deliver an anti-American harangue upon landing. The assertion was among new details about the plot revealed Wednesday in a report by the staff of the independent commission investigating the attacks.

..............

Is this information coming from the Khalid Shaikh Mohammed that they are torturing?

How about all of those bogus terror alerts? Think that info came from the tortured as well?

Its an established fact that torture doesnt yield reliable information besides being and international and US crime.

1. LOL!
<_The plot cost upwards of $500,000. and no credible evidence has emerged that anyone in the United States provided financial support. There also is no evidence that Saudi Princess Haifa al Faisal, wife of that country's U.S. ambassador, Prince Bandar, provided any money to the conspiracy, directly or indirectly.>

2. Riggs Bank: to serve you better
AT THE AIRPORT, THEY (9/11 hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi and Khalid Almihdhar) were swept up by a gregarious fellow Saudi, Omar al-Bayoumi, who had been living in the United States for several years. Al-Bayoumi drove the two men to San Diego, threw a welcoming party and arranged for the visitors to get an apartment next to his. He guaranteed the lease, and plunked down $1,550 in cash to cover the first two months' rent. His hospitality did not end there.

Al-Bayoumi also aided Alhazmi and Almihdhar as they opened a bank account, and recruited a friend to help them obtain Social Security cards and call flight schools in Florida to arrange flying lessons, according to law-enforcement officials. Two months before 9-11, al-Bayoumi moved to England; several months later, he disappeared. He is believed to be somewhere in Saudi Arabia.

...

The Feds' interest in al-Bayoumi has been heightened by a money trail that could be perfectly innocent, but is nonetheless intriguing—and could ultimately expose the Saudi government to some of the blame for 9-11 and seriously strain U.S.-Saudi ties. It is too soon to say where the trail will wind up, but it begins with a very surprising name on a Washington bank account.

About two months after al-Bayoumi began aiding Alhazmi and Almihdhar, NEWSWEEK has learned, al-Bayoumi's wife began receiving regular stipends, often monthly and usually around $2,000, totaling tens of thousands of dollars. The money came in the form of cashier's checks, purchased from Washington's Riggs Bank by Princess Haifa bint Faisal, the daughter of the late King Faisal and wife of Prince Bandar, the Saudi envoy who is a prominent Washington figure and personal friend of the Bush family. The checks were sent to a woman named Majeda Ibrahin Dweikat, who in turn signed over many of them to al-Bayoumi's wife (and her friend), Manal Ahmed Bagader. The Feds want to know: Was this well-meaning charity gone awry? Or some elaborate money-laundering scheme? A scam? Or just a coincidence?

7. Don't forget that Riggs Bank has it's own Bush connections....
<snip>

his upper-crust vision of Riggs, cultivated by former
chairman Joe L. Allbritton to attract Washington's
unique class of moneyed demi-celebrities, guided many
of the bank's strategic moves under his tenure.

One of these moves was the 1997 purchase of J. Bush
& Co., a Connecticut money-management firm founded,
owned and run by Jonathan J. Bush, the former
president's brother and the current president's uncle, for
an estimated $5.5 million.

But then why should that surprise me…..

9/11 Panel Disputes Iraq Link in Attacks

http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-4211663,00.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - Bluntly contradicting the Bush administration, the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks reported Wednesday there was ``no credible evidence'' that Saddam Hussein had ties with al-Qaida.

In a chilling report that sketched the history of Osama bin Laden's network, the commission said his far-flung training camps were ``apparently quite good.'' Terrorists-to-be were encouraged to ``think creatively about ways to commit mass murder,'' it added.

As devastating as the Sept. 11 attacks were, the commission disclosed that an earlier, more ambitious plan called for hijacking 10 planes instead of four. The target list for such a strike ranged from coast to coast, including the CIA and FBI headquarters as well as unidentified nuclear plants, and tall buildings in California and Washington state.

In other news, bush and cheney say they have just received new super top secret evidence that a link does exist that wasn’t available to the panel at the time the report was issued….
Sarcasm off….

10. also not mentioned
in either article, but the 9/11 Commission put up a picture of Mohammed Atta at an ATM machine in the US during the time he was supposedly in Prague meeting with Saddam's agent.

4. sheesh. I dunno about you guys, but it wouldn't take much
watching of every male getting singled out and killed before I decided to take one of two of them out with me :eyes:

5. I mean, really.
It's not the world's most plausible plot; it's quite a stretch to imagine all male passengers being killed, without a single passenger attempting to fight back.

I guess this is why the plan was never enacted... but what good does it do anyone to write about terrorist hijacking fantasies?

8. Why stop with 10 planes? Rove must like round numbers.
So the reason it was only 4 is because OBL was on a budget? IMO, that part about landing the plane, killing all the men, then ranting about the US sounds like Rove foreplay. I can just see Libby, Rove and Card cracking up as they write this shit.

9. Bojinka and 9.11 are seemingly being melded into one attack?
Perhaps to provide deniability in some sick fashion? That Bokjinka really was 9.11, and so any info we had on Bokinka couldn't be regarded as a known threat?

Now they can call it one failure in intelligence?

I dunno but something is funny about this 10 plane shtick...

11.  Is it just me or does the 9/11 Commission seem more interested
in telling us who doesn't fund al Qaeda than who does?

12. Sept 11th
Let me see, flying a 767 into 2 tall buildings going at speeds
of almost 500 MPH, seems pretty tricky and fishy to me.
Let alone getting to the New York area from northern NY

13. What did they say about flying Saudis out of the country afterwards?
BUSH FLIES SAUDI RACEHORSE OWNER WITH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF THE 9-11 ATTACK OUT OF THE COUNTRY

Prince Ahmed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, owner of War Emblem (who won the first two of three Triple Crown races in 2002) was at the top of the list of a group of well-connected Saudis who left the country from Lexington, KY in a luxurious customized 727 shortly after 9-11. According to one of bin Laden’s top operatives, Aziz knew well beforehand that a major attack was to take place in the US on 9-11. And the Bush administration let the bastard fly the coop. The very fact that a couple of hundred Saudis were flying around within the US to central pickup points like Lexington, while US citizens were prohibited from flying from Minneapolis to Chicago is totally outrageous.

On March 30, 2002, Al Qaeda operative Abu Zubaydah was captured in Pakistan and questioned by two teams of intelligence agents. One of the teams consisted of Arab Americans posing as Saudi agents, who hoped to scare Zubaydah into thinking he would be turned over to the Saudis for the usual torture and beheading. Far from being intimidated, Zubaydah was relieved, and told them that a call to Prince Ahmed would explain all—and he knew all the phone numbers from memory. He also told them to call Prince Sultan bin Faisal bin Turki al-Saud and Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Saud al-Kabir, members of the House of Saud related to Kind Fahd.

He said that several years earlier the royal family had made a deal with Al Qaeda in which the House of Saud would aid them as long as they kept terrorism out of Saudi Arabia. The interrogators insisted that 9-11 changed everything—the House of Saud would not stand behind them after that.

Zubaydah said that 9-11 changed nothing, because Ahmed and the others knew beforehand that an attack was scheduled for America that day. They didn’t know exactly what it would be, and they didn’t want to know. Bin Laden knew the Saudis couldn’t stop it without the specifics, and also that they couldn’t turn on him without disclosing their foreknowledge.

Bush helped Ahmed leave the country right after 9-11, unmolested until June 22, 2002, when he supposedly died of a heart attack in his sleep. On June 23, Prince Sultan died in a car wreck. On July 30, Prince Fahd died in the desert of thirst. None was older than 43, and all are beyond questioning now. That these three were named by Zubaydah and then died young a couple of months later is extremely suspicious.

DELIBERATELY FACILITATING THE MOVEMENT OF PEOPLE WHO KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT 9-11 OUT OF THE COUNTRY BEFORE THEY COULD BE QUESTIONED MAKES THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION ACCESSORIES AFTER THE FACT. REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
