Fla. high court to hear appeal of 'Terri's Law'

The Associated Press
Last Updated 2:48 pm PDT Wednesday, June 16, 2004

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to hear an appeal in one of the nation's longest and most bitter right-to-die cases.

The court voted 4-3 to hear the dispute over "Terri's Law," which forced doctors to reinsert the feeding tube that has kept Terri Schiavo alive for more than 14 years. The decision expedites the case, bypassing a review by a lower court.

Gov. Jeb Bush signed the law in October, days after Schiavo's husband had the tube removed. The law was ruled unconstitutional in May, but the tube will remain in place while Bush appeals.

2. Why do religious nutbags want people to have to
wring the last bit of misery out of an existence which has long since ceased to have meaning?

Once that tube comes out, she will be maintained on pain medicine and her passing will be an easy one.

They would seemingly keep her hovering between life and death forever.

3. Follow the money.

Keeping Terri alive circulates money through many different sectors.

This is a big part of what campaign contributions have brought us--our value in dollars to parasites is our primary reason for existence.

4. what kind of nutbag
wants to starve someone to death?

She breathes on her own. Her kidneys, bowels, and heart all work. She has brain damage, but so do lots of people. Her parents believe that with rehabilitative training, she will be able to chew and swallow on her own. Her parents believe that she is fully conscious and aware. What kind of nutbag would refuse to let rehabilitation procede? What kind of nutbag thinks starving people to death is a good idea?
