Senators cancel visit to Middle East this week (Weren't ALLOWED In Iraq)
OMAHA, Neb. -- A group of U.S. senators including Connecticut Democrat Joe Lieberman canceled a planned trip to the Middle East this week after learning they would not be allowed to visit Iraq.

snip...........

But nearly as soon as the trip was announced, the senators learned that the Iraq portion of the trip had been canceled because of security concerns in the volatile country, Nelson spokesman David DiMartino said Sunday.

1. Gee, wonder why? Isn't everything splendid over there?
The whole situation in Iraq reminds me of a flight training video I saw of some airline Captian recreating a crash in a similuator. As the belly of the plane was about to impact the earth, he is still saying that everything is just fine.

3. Seems like the Bush supporters get in. Maybe it's insecurity
problems ....on the part of dim-son & co rather than security problems.

4. Joe Lieberman and the Pyramids
Edited on Sun Jun-27-04 08:50 PM by hansolsen
It'll be a cold day in hell before Joe Lieberman or any of the other neocon supporters of Bush War II ever again feel safe to visit the middle east as a tourist, ride a camel, visit the Sphynx, and bathe in the Nile. His Visa has been voided.

They'll need to book with tourist operators who run Bradley Fighting vehicles.

6. "Democratization" is going just peachy *sneer*!!!!
Of course, if the wound of democracy is bleeding,...it cannot possibly be spread in a life-sustaining way. We hadn't even accomplished that mission here at home!!! What the fruck are we doing trying to spread what we haven't ourselves mastered?

*sigh*

8. I guess they were planning to be in Baghdad on Iraq's "Independence Day".
Too bad these Amerikan senators will miss all of the fireworks.

9. Isn't Geraldo Rivera still there?

I saw him interviewing soldiers and children saying how wonderful everything is there!

Maybe Joey L. can call Geraldo so that the Senators can visit Iraq to see all the happiness. They would be able to visit all the lovely schools. There may even be a cfhance for them to read "The Goat Book."
