Out of the doghouse: Bush returning to Washington State
OLYMPIA, Wash. AP

Nearly three years after George W. Bush got spanked in Washington state, he's coming back, asking for a second shot at the state's electoral votes – and buckets of campaign cash.

Washington is one of a mere handful of states the president hasn't visited since inauguration, leading some miffed Republicans and snickering Democrats to conclude that the state was in the political dog house. -

Republican state Chairman Chris Vance, who has never bought the doghouse scenario, says every conversation he's had with national party leaders persuades him that the White House sees Washington as potentially a "red" state for the Bush column. -

5. Maybe that's what he meant by no Washington insiders...
...in his administration? He doesn't have any "Washington" insiders in his administration, but he sure has plenty of life long D.C. climbers, sycophants, and federal government abusers on this team. Most of his administration have lived off the federal government their whole lives, apart from leaving government work long enough to cash in on connections (Cheney, Rummy, anyone?).

3. He's going after the Eastsider $
He knows he can't win the state, but he wants some Microsoft Millionares to contribute to his campaign. It's my understanding he'll be in Bellevue only.

4. Yeppers
And he's getting $ and support from the McCaw tribe - the people who put their name on the Opera House and then backed out on paying for it.

Typical conservative "logic."

Like * really has a chance of winning WA state. Yeah, right. Dream on, Smirky McChickenhawk.

12. Anyone catch this quote in the story?
From the Republican state chairman Chris Vance:
"We are being treated like a targeted state," says Vance, who recently
hosted Bush's campaign manager, Ken Mehlman, in Seattle, raising,
ka-ching, $130,000 for the state party. "The Bush campaign believes it can
win Washington and Oregon." Part of the attraction to Bush, who likes to
say he doesn't want "a lonely victory," is that Washington has potentially
competitive races for the U.S. Senate and the governor's mansion, Vance
says.

The Bush White House helped recruit U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt,
R-Wash., to run against two-term Democratic Senate incumbent Patty
Murray.

"We've got the trifecta going for us," Vance enthuses. :grr:

We'll do our best here in Portland to welcome him properly to the Northwest. Plans have been announced for a massive protest against the asshole-in-chief:

13. potentially competitive races...
The GOP is going to run a term-limit liar, that is anti-choice against Patty M.;

Right now, they can't seem to find a name someone to run for the GOP camp as governor.

If this is competitive - then they are really into lying to themselves...

Vance has to be on LSD, cause he is flippin'

17. Lying liars lying - AKA anything from Vance.
Reality:

1. Buscho wanted Jennifer Dunn and Nethercutt is a sad second.
2. They will run Nethercutt by slandering Patty Murray as daring to care about root causes of terrorism.
3. They'll still lose.

19. Nethercutt is a fucking liar
Never forget that he ran on a campaign promise to not serve more than two terms in 1994!

Never forget that he lied in order to depose the Speaker of the House, Tom Foley.

It's 2003 and he's still running?

George Nethercutt is a fucking LIAR!

20. LOL!
WA Senate: Murray strongly favored over Nethercutt, who the term-limits people hate and comes from a heavily Repuke district (hasn't had a competitive race since 1994).

WA Gov: Repukes don't have a candidate yet.

WA EV: Democratic nominee strongly favored over * due to Seattle-area liberals.

15. What are these people smoking?
Unemployment in some rural Washington State counties is up to 14% (and that's using the soft figures), the budget is fucked, homeless shelters are packed in the cities, Boeing is still laying people off, and these twits think a state that they lost thumpingly in 2000 is IN PLAY?

Delusional fartknockers.

Voting against one's well-being for petty gains and happily contributing to pseudo-working class vampires? Anyone who needs, works, or contributes to any social cause, employment, or agency should be a little beyond that at this point.
