NYT -Civilians Die as Iraqi Police and Rebels Clash in Mosul

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Aug. 4 � Fighting erupted between the Iraqi police and insurgents in the northern city of Mosul today, leaving at least 12 people dead and dozens more wounded, and prompting city authorities to impose a curfew.

Farther south, six foreigners taken hostage by insurgents were freed, some through a rescue raid staged by local leaders.

The fighting in Mosul was the fiercest since the American invasion more than a year ago and raised the specter that the insurgency � already strong in large areas of the so-called Sunni Triangle � has taken hold in the north.

1. Civil War, just as we predicted and marched against

and the news completely ignores the insanity. In the meantime, our soldiers stand there for nothing, guarding only one thing..the wealthy contracts of Halliburton and Bush's rich oil buddies.
We have become a shamed nation, we are the most hated country on earth right now.
How ashamed we should be of ourselves, allowing this to happen. How ashamed we should be. And where is the justice, where are the indictments against the Bush admin and their lying pack of thieves??
I have waited too long for justice, I am sick to death of waiting for justice. I cannot stand it much longer.
