Bush Seeks Edge Swapping Fish Tales
AP Television Writer

Roland Martin reeled in a big one for his weekly fishing show on the Outdoor Life Network.

Baiting a hook beside him on a dock in Crawford, Texas, was President Bush, whose leisurely afternoon casting for bass was chronicled for "Fishing with Roland Martin" in an episode that first aired on Friday. (It re-airs Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. EDT.) ..

That's another advantage of these appearances. People at the network graced with a president's presence are usually so star-struck, or grateful that he's there, that there's nothing approaching a tough question. ..

.. Would you rather go on television and discuss your technique and strategy for hooking a bigmouth bass," he said, "or would you rather go and discuss your strategy for getting the soldiers out of Iraq?"

2. Last night, I dreamed that Kerry was in a classical piano competition.
He played the first and second movements of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata perfectly. Everyone was impressed, but I doubt there were any bass fishermen or Nascar fans in the audience.

5. Beethoven has much more nuance than, say, Kidd Rock.
Hence their lack of attendance.

6. Doesn't it matter to fisherman that you can't eat that many fish
anymore because of the mercury???

I thought that would piss them off, considering how nice * has been to the polluters. Why bother to go fishing if you can't eat them???
