Fahrenheit 9/11 set for Egypt release after secret deal
Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" is set to hit Egyptian screens Aug. 18, with Al Arabia Co. for Production & Distribution (ACPD) planning to take the traditional Arabic-lingo summer box office by surprise.

Film was hotly pursued by several local film distributors, including Youssef Chahine's Misr Co., but ACPD, run by former actress Issaad Younus, made the announcement after "Fahrenheit" was passed by Egypt censors without cuts.

Film was banned in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia but played in neighboring Bahrain.

Surprising that Egypt is allowing the movie. It was banned in Bush's other bastions of Middle East freedom, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. That's the kind of freedom Bush would like to bring to all Americans.

1. hopefully, egyptians will see its bush, not all americans they should fear
clearly the bush administration applied pressure on arab countries not to allow the film shown there, but imagine, egypt, who gets more aid from the US than any nation besides israel dissed bush.

this is a country where mubarak can do what he wants, and he could have stopped the 911 film from being shown. since he did not, it might be a sign that even egypt is fed up with bush.

2. Superfical support
I'd say that Bush's support in the Middle East is only superficial. Everybody wants the lunatic gone.

3. Fahrenheit 9/11 was sh-owned in France...
Met a whole bunch of French people in Flagstaff during the Kerry rally. They were on vacation visiting America and they just happened to be in Flagstaff and felt extremely emotional for Kerry to be elected president of the US. They all talked about Fahrenheit 9/11 and about what they learned from the movie.

They said they love the United States and the American people, and they have been vacationing in the US for years. They just cannot understand how a nitwit like bush could be president of such a great nation and leader of the world.

4. Leader of the world?
"They just cannot understand how a nitwit like bush could be president of such a great nation and leader of the world."

When Bush and his cronies acted unilaterally in the UN in many peoples eyes they broke away from the 'world community' (to use a condi term)
