2. they hit another vehicle? Great! We can call it a non-combat fatality!

You just watch and see where the Pentagon puts it.

3. A combat death or non-combat?
Seems to me if they were shot at and were killed, it becomes a combat casualty. Friggin' spin is ridiculous,, and the media never asks the right question.

4. This will certainly be listed as "non-combat"

Since he "died as a result of the accident" (?!?). When it comes to determining the difference between efficient and proximate causes, CENTCOM has all the philosophical subtlety of a 12th century theologian...The dominant question being:

How many dead soldiers can fit in the heart of a Presidential pinhead...

5. the ? is: would this accident had happened without the small arms fire?
IF it wouldn't have happened, it should be listed as a combat fatality.

It's like a drunk driver swirving into the lane of oncoming traffic and the other driver having to swirve to miss the drunk driver and thereby ditching his car and being killed when smashing up against a tree. Most people would agree that the accident would have been caused by the drunk driver.
