Bloomberg to Delegates: New York Is Back
NEW YORK -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg welcomed delegates Monday to the Republican National Convention, proclaiming the city has fully recovered from the World Trade Center attacks and thanking Republicans for choosing New York.

"Three years ago, we were a city in mourning," Bloomberg said in a brief address. "But neither America nor President Bush ever stopped believing in us. It fills me with tremendous pride and gratitude to tell everybody that New York City is back."

snip....

"The president deserves our support," Bloomberg told cheering delegates. "We are here to support him. And I am here to support him."
