FALLUJAH, Iraq -- A U.S. airstrike on the city of Fallujah early Thursday killed nine civilians, including three children, and wounded six others, hospital officials said.

The strike, which hit a residential house in the southern neighborhood of al-Jubail, came just after midnight, witnesses said.

U.S. forces have repeatedly carried out airstrikes in Fallujah, west of Baghdad, since Marines ended a three-week siege of the city in April aimed at rooting out Sunni Muslim insurgents.

The strike killed nine and wounded six, some of whom were in critical condition, said Dr. Ahmed Hamid, of Fallujah General Hospital.

3. What I do not get
is that every day law enforcement people go after armed bad guys here in the USA. They do not, for the most part, resort to excessive force. (blowing shit up)

These sick assholes in Iraq are using a chainsaw to cut a steak.

Killing kids is a great way to 'win' the 'war on terrorism'

How in the hell anyone could vote for bush is beyond me...

6. no fucking way
The punishment of Fallujah was ordered by the White House. It is true that John Kerry's administration will inherit this conflict, and that he intends to see it through. However, if you believe John Kerry will base his decisions on petty emotions or a romantic belief in the efficacy of violence or a disregard for the laws of war and the value of life or blind trust in military intelligence including information acquired through torture, as Bush has done with regards to Fallujah, you are sorely mistaken.

9. Apparently things are so screwed up that an air strike is as close
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 06:26 PM by The_Casual_Observer
as they can get to the place, since the little 4 man "BBQ". What they think they are gaining by this is way beyond me, since we get absolutely no information about that war.

10. Apparently they don't understand why the troops have no control over
anyplace in Iraq, the dumb asses. The more bombs they drop, the more children they kill, the more determined the resistance becomes. And I will no longer call them insurgents, not in their own country and not when we kill innocent civilians. They are not insurgents, they are the resistance, like the French were during WWII.
