9 Accused of Looting in Frances' Wake

Nine suspected looters were arrested after Hurricane Frances blew onto Florida's east coast, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said Monday.

"During the actual hurricane, we had some sporadic looting, and that was with winds of 70 to 80 mph," he said.

Two of the nine were boys, ages 15 and 17, who were arrested Sunday after a witness told police about people entering a clothing store through a broken door, Mascara said. ..

Police in the Orlando area said Sunday that 10 thieves used a stolen car to smash into a store and steal about $10,000 worth of clothing, and two men were arrested as they tried to steal an ATM machine with a chain saw.

Everyone knows you can't steal an ATM with a chainsaw.

You need heavy machinery like a forklift or backhoe.

...shooting looters on the spot really wouldn't bother me that much. Anyone who would do that is the lowest of the low.
