Gay Republican group won’t endorse Bush

Backing for constitutional ban on same-sex marriage cited

The National Board of the Log Cabin Republicans voted 22-2 Tuesday night against endorsing President Bush in 2004, the group said in a statement Wednesday. It will instead shift its “financial and political resources to defeating the radical right and supporting inclusive Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives," Log Cabin Board Chairman William Brownson of Ohio said.

2. Which proves that..
You cannot be a bottom on everything.

Kudos to the LCR's for getting some gumption and some self-respect.

Oh, and boys and girls? I know of one political party where you WOULD be welcome. It's just not the political party of mumsy and dadsy.

3. At least they won't VOTE for the asshole.
Only one problem: WHERE will they find these ...supporting inclusive Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives," ??

Haven't met any lately.

4. Wow, 22-2
They got a 100% membership turnout for their endorsement vote!

Honestly, I'd far rather see 30 seconds uninterrupted from some members of the gay community and their allies who don't loathe themselves quite so much. The g/l/b/t/i people I know would sooner do just about anything than endorse anything put out by the GOP, which has so relentlessly worked against them for the past quarter century.

5. Very Interesting.
“financial and political resources to defeating the radical right and supporting inclusive Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives,"

I wonder what exactly that means? What if the Radical Right candidate is running against a Dem? Hmmmmm. Would they go that far?

6. So * won't get 24 votes?
That sounds right - 24 gay repugs in the country.
