Vigil in park honors war dead (Denver)
As a small band played on the south lawn of Cheesman Park and the sun set Thursday, dozens gathered not far away in silent protest and in remembrance of the Iraq war dead.

"I'm here to recognize the troops that have died," said Denver resident Molly Kreck, who held 19-month-old daughter Adeline to her hip with one hand and a small candle in the other.

This was a very powerful Denver event with 400 people silently bearing witness that America does not stand for tyranny.

4. About 100 in Los Angeles (Westwood) at the Federal Building
Plus saw two smaller vigils both in Mar Vista Palms (about 25 each) last night while driving home from Westwood.

The Westwood vigil made the 11 p.m. NBC local news; respectful coverage, gone are the days of painting us all as 'left-wing crazies'

6. I was in Denver
The band was actually playing for a different event - mostly Sousa marches, which was somewhat ironic. But it was a touching event - good to see such a turnout considering VERY last minute notice.

Lots of people drove by as well.
