Powell Defends Cheney on 'Choice' Remark
Presidential Elections - AP

Secretary of State Colin Powell on Sunday defended Vice President Dick Cheney for saying last week that terrorists will hit the United States again "if we make the wrong choice" on Election Day. ..

"But what the vice president was saying is, you know the strategies that we are following, you know the aggressiveness with which we have gone after this war against terror. ..

National security adviser Condoleezza Rice echoed Powell's view. ..

Cheney was in Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday when he told supporters: "It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."

1. They can shove their electioneering where the sun don't shine

They're scared for their jobs (rightly so) and are being utterly manipulative.

Wouldn't that make them cowards?

3. Powell Is Right
"But what the vice president was saying is, you know the strategies that we are following, you know the aggressiveness with which we have gone after this war against terror. ..

I agree with Powell. I know the aggressiveness with which the Republicans have gone after this war against terror; namely using unreliable mercenaries who let bin Laden escape at Tora Bora. This is one of the many reasons why I will be voting for John Kerry in November.

13. A war against terror is a silly notion. Why do you persist in pretending
anyone can wage such a war. 9-11 was a criminal act probably perpetrated by the US government. It is inappropriate to carpet bomb countries for the actions of a handful of people, especially when they are not even from their country.

Why do Americans have to behave like demented John Waynes???

9. Never Forget, Ma'am
Powell got his nod toward higher office by energetic service as the H.Q. flack denying the atrocities at My Lai occured. There is nothing, nothing at all, this reptile will not say if it suits his masters that he say it....

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

10. How do you get the truth out
that the war in Iraq is NOT a war on terrorism. By quit playing their word games that it is. Never call the war in Iraq "the war on terror". This is how they have so many people believing lies (along with our own (dems) party members who are lying just as well). Its just time to call them out. Its time to call them liers any time they say it. Silence is ALSO a lie.

11. This has already happened!
We made the wrong choice in 2000 (or at least the supreme court did) and America was hit very hard. I want to elect someone who at least reads the PDB's that come across his desk, and if he reads them, acts on them. Like Bush said... fool me once...cant get fooled again. Or words to that effect.

12. This is exactly the opposite of what Bush says!
If I understand Powell's vague blather correctly, he saying because of the intensity whith which we've pursued the 'war on terra', we are likely to get hit again. But but but that's not what Georgie says! He flat out denies that this is the case. "We're at war because terrorism is happening, terrorism is not happening because we're at war."--or words to that effect. So which is it, assholes?
