Cheney Is Voice of Fear on National Security
Sunday, September 19, 2004; Page A12

OREGON CITY, Ore. -- Vice President Cheney likes to warm up a crowd by comparing himself to Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C), his telegenic opponent. "People keep telling me that Senator Edwards got picked for his good looks, his charm, his sex appeal and his great hair," he says. "I say to them, 'How do you think I got the job?' "

Not, apparently, for his sunny optimism.

The self-deprecation is one of the few laugh lines in a stump speech that is gloomy and serious -- deadly serious. Cheney, one of the Bush administration's leading voices in support of the invasion of Iraq, rallies Republicans on the campaign trail with visions of apocalypse.

"Today, we face an enemy every bit as bent on destroying us as were the Axis powers in World War II," he told supporters in swing counties from Iowa to New Mexico in the past week. "This is not an enemy we can reason with, or negotiate with, or appease. This is, to put it simply, an enemy that we must destroy." The crowds cheered, pumping their fists in the air.

2. Good question, Dick.
Let me answer that for you. You got the job because you are a sinister, cheating, lying stealing bastard. How's that?

Besides, you're incredibly ugly. Randi Rhodes says you're a closet gay, very repressed, and Mark Maren says you're filled with self-loathing.

Now there's a guy I want to vote for.

It's hard to believe you are only 12 years older than John Edwards.

3. Utter bullshit.

"Today, we face an enemy every bit as bent on destroying us as were the Axis powers in World War II."

That may be THE craziest thing I have ever heard. Dick, terrorism is about hitting pressure points and doing enough damage to disrupt things and scare the hell out of people in order to influence policy. It is not about amassing armies and navies sufficient to conquer foreign lands and peoples. The U.S. desperately needs somebody who knows the difference between the intentions of a Panzer division and those of a couple dozen guys with box cutters. You had your chance, Dickey Boy.

If the Dickhead and his Big Oil Boys would get their greedy asses out of the Middle East the U.S. would probably never hear from those terrorists again.

These are the bloodthirsty people we should send to Iraq. Let them go destroy that enemy. Let Dick lead the way.

6. Unbelieveable.... unbelieveable....
Snipped from original article...

"Today, we face an enemy every bit as bent on destroying us as were the Axis powers in World War II," he told supporters in swing counties from Iowa to New Mexico in the past week. "This is not an enemy we can reason with, or negotiate with, or appease. This is, to put it simply, an enemy that we must destroy." The crowds cheered, pumping their fists in the air.

.................................

I guess he's talking about his regime because there isn't anyone who has the power to do what he's brainwashing everyone to believe.

If they do not get removed from office we can expect...

Worldwide mass destruction..
No negotiating or reasoning with protestors or dissenters....

All while hordes of people are shouting and pumping their fists in the air....

8. For God's sake! 9/11 happened on Cheney's watch! Why
doesn't Kerry call him on it? bush/cheney ignored every warning given to them! Cheney went so far as to say Richard Clarke was taken out of the "loop". What is Kerry waiting for?
