Assaulted protester considering legal action
Assaulted protester considering legal action

By Garrett Young
September 21, 2004

The female protester who was kicked at the Republican Youth Convention in New York is considering taking legal action against her attacker.

While the attacker was unidentified when the footage was shot, several Penn students have since identified him as Wharton junior Scott Robinson, based on a digital file of a video circulating on the Internet.

Clare Martin, 26, of Berkeley, Calif., said yesterday that she has not ruled out any options against the young man who kicked her while she was being detained by Secret Service and security detail at Madison Square Garden on the morning of Sept. 1.

"We're considering our options," Martin said. "Pressing charges is definitely one of them."

Oh, pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaase, Ms. Martin, do press charges.

8. Here's the post that gets my vote as Best
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 07:37 AM by unfrigginreal
Oh, Scott, how could you? After all the time your father and I tried to hide the fact that he was (sob) hitting me, you turn out to be just like him? I know, I deserved all those beatings, with my disrespectful comments about his drinking and those other women he was seeing, and burning dinner every other night while I was waiting for my medication to take effect, but we tried so hard to pretend that we were just a normal Republican family, even if we did have to move all the time, and I had to wear those long sleeves and dark glasses to meet with your principal when you lost your temper and pushed those little boys with the glasses and tried to take the second grade girls behind the gym the week before you graduated high school. Thank God for that understanding judge who knew your father from Party meetings who was able to protect you - but Scott, I'm afraid that we may not have any influence in New York with all those liberal Jewish activist judges. I know you'll be down on your knees praying for deliverance, and that, like me, you'll get used to being in that position. Write me when you get a chance, my darling little boy.

It wouldn't surprise me if *Mom* was a DUer
Maybe we should start a "Best of" thread in the lounge.

On edit: Clare, please press charges - the punk really deserves it.

9. A couple more
Oh, you poor loser. I'm not going to pile on here, since you are so very very fucked. That would just be kicking you when you're down, and we can't have that, can we?

Lemme see if I got this straight, Scott: You are hawkish on Iraq though you haven't volunteered to go fight AND you love kicking defenseless women when they're down? Well, if that ain't the definition of a pussy, I don't know what is. Sounds like prime 100 grade USMC material to me. Do you wet the bed? Are you a peter pupper? You need the USMC to make a man of you. I suggest you put your money where your mouth is, girl, and come sign up. How else can you insure the Iraqi football team makes it to the 2008 Olympics? Do it for love of country, Scott. Do it for Jesus Christ.

Semper Fidelis,
Phil Donderdruck

While you're in Manhattan you might want to look up Robert Chambers (the Preppie Murderer). Grab a few beers and let him show you around town. Central Park is a great place to take a date.

23. I totally think the parents of this boy should be SHAMED for raising such
a piece of shit kid. He has zero remorse for his actions, denied them first and then didn't even offer any shame to his disgraceful actions. Scott Robinson is a women beating embarrassment, I'm so glad he's not a Democrat, we'd have kicked the shit out of him for kicking a girl! We don't put up with hating women and degrading them.

I'm a UofPenn alum who is involved w/Trustee work at Penn
Very interesting stuff I've been alerted to through the network of other "Moms" on the internet who are members of MOB (Moms opposed to Bush), MMOB (Mainstreet Moms opposed to Bush), Bad Babes & their Buddies (badbabes.org) etc. My email box was flooded today by some women who know that I am an alum from Penn and Wharton with close friends on both the Trustees of Penn, Deans of Admission and Professors at Wharton. I am going to be doing some inquiries into this "Scott Robinson" and finding out more information about him and if in fact he was involved in this incident. If he is the person, I can assure anyone on this blog, and Mr. Scott Robinson himself, that when you piss off Moms who love and care about this country, in particular ones who went to Penn and Wharton and have the financial resources and connections to scare enough trustees and Deans at Penn if they are indeed in any way funding him either by University Scholarships et al or if he is in any violation or involvement in activities which go against the student ethics code, then his life at Penn is going to be "hell". I have a friend too who used to be a photographer in the 80's for the Daily Pennsylvanian and is very involved in activities at U of Penn in official "events" taking photos, and I'll make sure he is alerted ASAP about this young man and even possibly dig up any photos taken on campus in the last couple of years at Penn and Wharton of "Scott Robinson" and any of his campus affiliations. Scott Robinson, if this was you, you might never see your Wharton/UofPenn Diploma in 2006 or Locust Walk and the front entrance of Steinberg/Dietrich Hall ever welcoming you again. If you doubt my sincerity or even my connections, please feel free to contact Professor Kenneth Shropshire at Wharton - he teaches the required "Legal ethics" course at Wharton Undergrad as well as over at the Law School. Ask him if "Pachamama" is someone he wanted to piss off at Penn and Wharton....He'll let you know what a whole load of woe is coming your way. I've emailed him already and in between laughter, he'll tell you that you might want to be considering where your transferring to in 2005.

Drink a Highball! Go University of Pennsylvania!

I can't stand men who beat up on women. Doing so while the woman was incapable of defending herself or leaving makes this all the more despicable. Fucking POS coward! If I were the judge, for punishment, I'd have two security guards hold the guy while the woman kicks him in the nuts.

Press criminal charges and file a civil lawsuit. I'd hate for big and manly Scott to miss an opportunity to take out some his aggressions on the weaklings in prison.

14. Sounds good to me...
... I'd love to see her fire both cannons :) I suspect that the outcome of a criminal charge will be minor, the asshole will get community service or maybe probation.

But the outcome of a civil suit *could* be devastating. She could get a huge judgement, that the moron cannot pay but which hangs over his head for the foreseeable future.

But definitely, both sounds good !

15. Lead by example girl, this guy had no apology, he is going to grow
up thinking it's okay to kick women. I think he's parents did a lousy job. What's disturbing to me is he out right denied it until he was told he was captured on video, then he just didn't say a word. No apology, no SHAME, and THAT'S why she should sue and bring it to court. Make this guy famous for being the Young Rethug women beater icon!

41. This kinda sorta made it into the regular press
Philly's web site has a campaign extra blog here:

http://www.pnionline.com/dnblog/extra/

About the third paragraph down they do a blurb on Scott Robinson and show a picture of him at a counter-demonstration hosted by Protest Warrior. Of course Scottie's henchmen at Penn deny he is a member of Protest Warriors even though he is shown in a pic on their web site! Did anybody ever teach these Wharton pencil-neck dinks about plausible deniability?

Oh it's the evil lefties out to get poor widdle Scott. :eyes:
