Judge tosses out charges against Bush protester

Finally a fair decision!

Not even the word of a police officer can stand against the power of a videotape proofing the opposite!!

11. When * was campaigning
in Scranton, PA at the Red Barons stadium, 3 protestors obtained tickets to the event and made it through the first 2 entrances where the * volunteers were checking to ensure everyone had tickets. SS were present throughout, police, and their volunteers so things went smoothly and before going through the metal detectors, * supporters had been at the Kerry rally & videotaped his supporters and apparently watched it several times because they recognized the 3 ladies at the Kerry rally. The * supporters approached the women, asked to see their tix & tore the tickets in shreds & told them they now didn't have tickets to enter the rally. They questioned them as to how they received their tickets, and they told them at * hdqtrs. The * people then called over the SS and the police to escort them to leave now or be arrested. The SS told the * people that they could NOT get involved with this problem and walked away, thus leaving the police to escort them out.

As you probably read, you had to have a tix to enter the Kerry rally also which was outside at the Lackawanna County Court House. It's apparent that the * pukes had to get their tix to attend Kerry's rally at the camp hdqtrs to videotape & take pix of the Kerry supporters. The repukes think they own the world and are a bunch of violent scumbags. From what I've read on various threads, media reports, and tv, the repukes must have received newsletters telling them that if any D appears at any of their events, to start screaming "4 more years!" while the chimp stands there w/ a grin on his puss. What's become of our country, what's going to happen to our children, and when are the repukes going to wake up and realize they've been lied to and are supporting the biggest lying chimp ever who's thrown the people to the wolves!

5. Yup, he Must Be Made An Example Of.
Was there someone besides the officer who made an initial complaint? Throw the book at them as well.

8. So the cops were clearly lying, they should be fired for thier lies

A person who willfully lies should not be trusted to be a cop.

14. In that case, you'd have about 2 dozen left on the eastern seaboard
and none anywhere else. I've been a criminal defense attorney for a while, now, and I've yet to see the circumstance when a cop won't lie if he thinks he's supposed to.

Judge Dismisses Charges Vs. Bush Protester

Thu Sep 16,12:26 AM ET

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A judge has dismissed charges against a war protester who was arrested during a visit by President Bush (news - web sites) last spring.

The disorderly conduct charge against Joe Scott was dismissed after witnesses and a videotape contradicted police testimony about his actions.

Scott, 57, claimed he was being singled out by Nashville police during the May 27 visit. "I'm very relieved," he said Tuesday. "I've not been tried as a criminal before."

During the trial, police testified that they wanted Scott, who was holding a "Fire Bush" sign, to move away from the shoulder of the road because he was creating a safety problem and because the U.S. Secret Service wanted protesters at least 10 feet from the street.

13. New tactic - Bump the protestor with a horse and then say they "ran away".
"Mounted patrol officer Rita Harden testified that Scott had resisted and had run across the street. A videotape of the confrontation showed that Harden used her horse to bump Scott into the street, but it never showed him running away."

Wow - Rita is some bald faced lier! She rides her horse into the protestor and then claims that the protestor ran away from her. What did she expect him to do, stand there and get trampled? If Rita were a man we would say she has brass balls to be able to lie with a straight face like that. And I am sure Rita will be up on perjury charges now, won't she?
