Polls Show Nov. 2 Race Even as Bush Bounce Fades

37 minutes ago Add Politics to My Yahoo!

Please RATE High Thanks!!!

By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two national polls on Thursday showed the race between President Bush (news - web sites) and Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) deadlocked again as Bush's convention bounce faded, although the president has made headway in key swing states.

In polls certain to buoy the spirits of anxious Democrats, the Pew Research Center and Harris Interactive found equal levels of support for the two White House contenders as Kerry's support rebounded from the withering attacks he faced at the Republican convention that ended on Sept. 2.

The new surveys followed two other polls in recent days, by Investor's Business Daily and a Democratic group, Democracy Corps, that found the race essentially even again, just as it was for months before the two parties held their nominating conventions.

11. Originally theTitle was different still, but DU went down twice while
I was trying to edit...Originally the title said Reuter News..37 minutes ago..then came the comment to add more to it. Then Du went down while they updated the database. It got stuck this way.

12. Originially, before DU went down..
I limited the title because I was asking people to rate the article.
I limited to "Reuters News...37 minutes Ago" because I wanted it to
have a chance on the front page before it got freeped to a low score.
Many of our articles never make it to the front page or stay for only a short time, only to be replaced by a right wing article.

I understand the title was not indepth to start out with. But I had intended to be that way. From here on out...I will just post what ever title it states, because this was terrible to try to fix and by the time the boards came back on the it was to late to fix the title.

2. Kohut's comments are interesting
He said Bush is still quite vulnerable on Iraq, but Kerry has yet to capitalize. I think he will. Keep in mind, if people still don't like Bush after the RNC, they're ripe for picking by Kerry. It's a great opportunity for him.

19. Iraq now is self-captializing, it's gotten so bad.
All a voter has to do is watch the news, and read the paper.

6. a lot of us were saying that electoralvote.com
was setting us up for the 'disaster' following the RNC. Recall that the whole time we were quoting the poll, we kept saying, "and that's a RW site, isn't it?"

well, yes it is...

7. No, it's not a right-wing site
electoral-vote.com described itself as the Democratic leaning counterpart to electionprojection.com. Both sites try to be objective, and simply update their maps based on the latest info from a legitimate poll (which includes polls like Zogby, Rasmussen, Gallup, and so on.

8. ALERT !!!!!! ALERT!!!!!
The "bounce" never existed.. Bogus questions produce bogus results.. Do you know anyone "ordinary" who even WATCHED the conventions?? Only people who are interested in politics even watch those things, and you will not find "political people" who have NOT made up their minds by now..:)

They have been polling for a LONG time, and they know exactly the wording necessary to elicit a response they expect..

IGNORE the polls... (except that we should all call in to EVERY show that takes callers, and pound home the idea that "close poll numbers" are ONLY reported to COVER THE TRACKS OF A DIEBOLDED ELECTION..

Plant that seed every chance you get..

15. of course the bounce never existed
it was all a huge plot by the liberal media to make it look like Bush had a huge lead and then blew it.....I swear, that is what I am reading on another board. We could have predicted that would be the line they would take.
