Allawi's Congress speech draws flak
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/736636FF-4FA0-49E5-8550-A7A7CB98981E.htm

<snip>
But Arab analysts labelled Allawi's speech and his highlighting of national elections a farce.

"What elections under occupation?" asked Mustafa Bakri, editor of the weekly Egyptian news magazine al-Osboa.

Bakri believes a country occupied
cannot have free and fair elections.

"Iraq is not free nor is it stable. There is nationwide chaos. Its infrastructure has been destroyed and its wealth pillaged and plundered by the US occupation," he told Aljazeera.net.

2. But Allawi said they could have elections in 4/5
of the country. Too bad he forgot to mention that those 4/5's of the country are mostly desert where no one lives.

I just hope Team Bush doesn't think that this is a good idea for the US. Gee we only need 4/5 of the country to vote and still be 'legitimate'. No one will notice if Florida or California doesn't get to vote, it wouldn't have effected the outcome anyway.

4. Allawi is really Baghdad Bob
The US backed interim puppet PM Allawi sounds just like Baghdad Bob.He says 14 to 15 provinces in Iraq are safe.Martha Raditz of ABC News reported last night it's more like 1/2 of the 18 provinces are safe.

CNN State Department correspondent Andrea Koppel reported ONE country has offered troops to protect the UN employees for the Iraqi elections.Georgia is that country. Also, she reported it takes much more to set up the election process than Allawi claims which can not be done in four months with no insurgency.Baghdad Bob Allawi says they could have elections in Iraq tomorrow

Thankfully ABC News,Keith Olberman and CNN-Koppel/Aaron Brown poked holes in Allawi's claims

Iraqi's interviewed on TV after watching Allawi's speech were skeptical of his claims

5. His words anout "comforting the terraists" reminded me of Ashcroft's
"those who bring back phantoms of lost liberties....."
It's quite the chutzpa of BFEE to have their Iraq "strongman" sock puppet telling me to shut up!

6. FAWNING: Webster's II-New Riverside Edition defines Fawning as,
1.To display obsequious affection. 2. TO SEEK FAVOR BY SUPPORTING SLAVISHLY EVERY OPINION AND SUGGESTION OF A SUPERIOR... as we repeatedly see JUDY the asp WOOF-WOOF, DARYN KAGAN, TWEETY MATTHEWS, LESLIE BLITZER, TIM RUSSERT, JIM LEHRER AND OTHERS DO.

IF THEIR SUPPORT FOR DEMOCRACY WERE TRULY GENUINE, THEY WOULD LEARN FROM THIS PAGE OF AL-JAZEERA IN WHICH IT IS THE VERY ARABAS WHO CRITICIZE THE ALLAWI BUSH CHARADE, i. e."What elections under occupation?" asked Mustafa Bakri, editor of the weekly Egyptian news magazine al-Osboa. "What elections under occupation?" asked Mustafa Bakri, editor of the weekly Egyptian news magazine al-Osboa.

or, Dr Walid Kazziha, political science professor at the American University in Cairo, believes Allawi may have had no choice.
Bakri: Allawi (L) showed his loyalty
to those who brought him to power" knows what is going on but in front of his master Bush, can't say anything else.
"His speech was so similar to all Bush speeches … he is doing a Bush election speech," he told Aljazeera.net.

THERE YOU GO DEAR FAWNERS, WHEN TRUTH IS PUT TO POWER ... the Allawi speech to congress is nothing more than a Charade to bolster the resident chimp in his power grab of the white house and of Iraq.

8. Check out this exchange between Lehrer and Allawi..
JIM LEHRER: What would you say to somebody in the United States who questions whether or not getting rid of Saddam Hussein was worth the cost of more than a thousand lives now and billions and billions of U.S. dollars?

PRIME MINISTER IYAD ALLAWI: Well, I assure you if Saddam was still there, terrorists will be hitting there again at Washington and New York, as they did in the murderous attack in September; they'll be hitting also on other places in Europe and the Middle East.

And this...

JIM LEHRER: How many Iraqis have died since the U.S. military operation began?

PRIME MINISTER IYAD ALLAWI: The figures we have so far, this is the ministry of health figures... in the last five months, this is taking into account the most recent ones, deaths, three-thousand-six hundred and something, I can't remember the fractions over six hundred. Civilians have been killed by terrorist attacks in the last five months by terrorists, and more than twelve thousand injured now.

So we have Allawi claiming a clear connection between Hussein and 9/11 and we have him cite 3000 civilians killed by "terrorists" while not mentioning the 20,000 killed by US bombs and bullets. Oh yeah...were getting a straight story from this guy. This guy actually said on national TV that if Hussien had not been attacked there would have been more attacks on Washington and New York...my God what a pathetic lackey.

9. I followed the reaction to Allawi's speach in the Spanish...
...press as well and it appears to have gone over like a fart in church. Is it me, or are Allawi and Bush drinking the same Kool aid?

12. I am sure the Iraqi's know this.
After his speech, my first thought was, man, this guy is in trouble when he gets home. This will surely escalate the violence.
