Kerry: Bush Dropped Ball on Terror with War in Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=615&ncid=696&e=3&u=/nm/20040924/pl_nm/campaign_kerry_dc

Democratic candidate John Kerry accused President Bush on Friday of neglecting the fight against terrorism by going to war in Iraq and said his Republican rival had left America less safe.

Kerry trained his sights on Bush's perceived strength -- his leadership after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States -- and accused the president of taking his "eye off the ball" in a struggle "as monumental as the Cold War."

"Instead of finishing the job in Afghanistan, the president rushed to a new war in Iraq," the Massachusetts senator said in a speech at Temple University. "The invasion of Iraq was a profound diversion from the battle against our greatest enemy -- Al Qaeda."

-snip-

Bush has resisted Kerry's attempts to distinguish the Iraq war from the war on terror, and argued that Iraq is a key battleground in it. Bush's campaign said the Democrat's criticisms lacked regard for their effect "on our troops in the field and our allies fighting alongside them."

11. Before 9/11
Bush dropped the ball before 9/11. They were advised something was imminent but did nothing. I would have given them the benefit of the doubt but they seem to be totally incompetent. The administration just makes blunder after blunder.

12. Bush didn't drop the ball.
He deliberately threw it to a group of fans seated on the 50-yard line.
