16. let's show Ahura Mazda how much we appreciate him
with a bit of delicately tainted buffalo meat.

Isn't it refreshing to see some good news coming out of Iraq? I mean, aside from the fact that the abduction occured in the first place, this is good news!

Hurray, the stampede of freedom!

6. ....and the propaganda machine try to make us believe they
were executed a week ago. Didn't make sense for them to murder the Italians who were helping their people.

8. CNN just confirmed it...
...so now I have to ask the question- Why is it that so many non-American captives get released as compared to so few Americans? What is it we're not doing, or doing wrong? Hmmm. Guess that's a question we'll never get asked by any "Elite" news agency.

12. update in BBC story: French negotiator says deal reached for 2 Frenchmen
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3698196.stm

Meanwhile, a French negotiator says he has reached a deal with kidnappers to free two French hostages in Iraq, according to Arabic television.

The envoy told al-Arabiya TV he had seen Georges Malbrunot and Christian Chesnot, who were kidnapped on 21 August, and they would be released soon.

Separately, an Egyptian telecoms company said four of its six workers who had been held hostage in Iraq have been set free.

13. Yay, great news!
Now, let's hope their comrades, the Iraqi aid workers who were seized at the same time, are also freed.

18. It is wonderful news, but..
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 06:11 PM by Aidoneus
there is now the teensy-tiniest matter of the thousands of Iraqis that remain in the American concentration camps.. if only they could take in a fraction of the attention.

19. It's doubtful women would have been beheaded
As ruthless as some of the abductors have been, they still have their own moral code based on Islam and beheading women is not something they would do. I gathered this from the little I know of Islam and I have spoken to a Muslim friend who believed this too. Yes, stoning and for thievery, the cutting of hands might be done, but beheading, no.
