Blair avoids Iraq vote defeat
send these morons to Iraq
see how fast they'd withdraw

Tony Blair avoided an embarrassing defeat today when over 80% of Labour conference delegates rejected a motion calling for the early withdrawal of British troops from Iraq.
A compromise statement agreed by the party's national executive committee (NEC) urging the continued "support of the efforts of the emerging civil society in Iraq" was passed in its place.

Party managers, alarmed by the prospect of delegates condemning the prime minister's handling of the war, had made strenuous efforts to achieve consensus on the issue.

1. The bravery of being out of range...
That's the title of a song by Roger Waters...should be the theme song of Bush's campaign and Blair's Labour Party.

2. Jack Straw says:
"There is no occupation. The US, the UK and other countries' forces can only be in Iraq at the request of the Iraqi government. It is their call. If they ask us to leave, we leave."

when he can also say: "There has been no election. The Iraqi government can only be in Iraq at the request of the US, the UK and other countries' forces. It is our call. If we ask them to leave, they leave."

8. "At the request of the Iraqi government"
And just who would that be, Mr. Straw? The last popularly elected leader of Iraq, like it or not, has been removed by you and your henchmen. There is no legal, legitimate government in Iraq at this time. So, who gave you permission to take over the country?

3. This is why Labour should (and hopefully will) lose the next elections
They've hitched their country to the whims of Bush*. They know better. They disgust me.

5. It's too bad really
I like Blaire and Labour. Blaire could have stopped Iraq, no way U.S. would go without them. Hopefully Blaire will not support Iran or Syria next, this may keep the U.S. from doing that, but it may not.

9. Blair says he is not finished yet,
He said he has started something and doesnt want to step down until he sees it through.

God knows he has been no use for the country so I assume it is some neo-con plan he is following.
