Ireland issues passport for British hostage
DUBLIN - Ireland issued a passport on Tuesday to a British hostage being held in Iraq in hopes that his captors will release him.

Irish Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern said that Kenneth Bigley 's family had asked that an Irish passport be issued to help convince his kidnappers of his Irish citizenship.

"I am happy to agree to this request and I...very much hope that it will contribute to the efforts to secure his release," said Ahern.
