Hurricanes Reveal Hidden Beachside Bombs
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Military explosives from World War II training exercises have been found four times along Florida's Atlantic Coast since Hurricane Jeanne blew through the area last month and uncovered them.

The latest find came Monday when Army explosives experts from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station removed a 10 1/2-foot-long, rocket-powered explosive nicknamed "Tiny Tim" from the sands of Vero Beach.

"It's a 500-pound, semi-armor-piercing bomb fitted with a rocket motor," said Sgt. 1st Class Jake Holland of the Army's 766th Ordnance Company. "The rocket had been fired, but the warhead was live."

The coast stretching along Volusia, Brevard and Indian River counties was used in World War II for amphibious landing and other military training. Tank obstacles and other military gear have been found as well.............

3. I once found an inactive landmine
Playing in the sand of a volleyball court in Washington, DC quite a few years ago. The army had just done some practice there and forgot to remove that one. I was digging around and found a black thing shaped like a fat UFO. Boy did that make us feel safe.

Just goes to show you just how large the problem of landmine and explosive removal is. And the Bush Admin. is making us all safer by using more and more weapons in faraway countries where *we* don't always see the results...but *they* do.

As if my list of reasons to hate the Bushies wasn't long enough!
