Nader raps Bush, Kerry over Yale society membership
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader returned to his home state Wednesday to campaign at Yale University, the alma mater of his two opponents.

Nader spoke to a small crowd in front of the building that houses Skull and Bones, a secret society whose members reportedly included President Bush and John Kerry. He said the two major-party candidates need to answer questions regarding their involvement in the group.

The consumer advocate said Bush has appointed to public office 10 members or former members of Skull and Bones.

"We're dealing here with members of a secret society who presumably prefer each other in terms of advancing each other, recommending each other, appointing each other to public positions and enhancing each other's business deals," said Nader, a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

"We're dealing here with members of a secret society who presumably prefer each other in terms of advancing each other, recommending each other, appointing each other to public positions and enhancing each other's business deals," said Nader"

And YOU'RE dealing with them as well. Repugs getting signatures to get your ass on ballots in swing states(guess who that benefits?), Swift boat vets for Truth Nader? How bout it, Ralphy? Getting a little 'advancing' from one of those old Skull & Bones fellas, too?

Hypocrite!

15. As do other
college groups including the Ring Knockers of West Point. This is not new. I do not like secret societies of any kind but Yale is not the only school or organization with them that cling to each other after graduation.

8. Meanwhile Bush's entire administration is made up of fellows from the
American Enterprise Institute...an organization FAR more dangerous to the US Constitution than Skull and Bones...as a trained lawyer, Nader should be familiar with the concept PROXIMATE CAUSE...now is the AEI the MORE proximate cause of the dangers facing our way of life given the money they have funneled to religious orgs, universities, the law and economics movement, lawsuits arguing AGAINST AA, the undermining of the women's movement, or is Skull and Bones?

Nader is capitalizing on getting the La Rouche vote since he isn't yet viewed as a nut...but the day is now coming and just got closer.

37. S&B
i fully support kerry and agree that nader is greasing his own griddle, but i do think it is safe to ask kerry for clarification re: skull and bones. it is a dark society--or at least it has been--as any rudimentary search will reveal. skull and bones stories abound--the theft and defilement of geronimo's skull, rituals of degradation and power-wielding--and are likely to remain an issue here and abroad. i see no constructive reason to shout down nader. how refreshing it would be for kerry to pull back the curtain on this puzzling club.

39. perhaps a major jerk, but RN is not "crazy"
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0122-10.htm

AMY GOODMAN: But there is a fact about Kerry's past that brings him closer to Bush than any other candidate. Both Bush and Kerry are members of a secretive society dating back to their respective days at Yale University. It's called “Skull and Bones.” This fact has not been widely reported, but when Kerry's campaign spokesperson was asked about it, she said, quote, “John Kerry has absolutely nothing to say on that subject. Sorry.” In a moment, we'll be joined by Alexandra Robbins, the “New York Times" best-selling author of, "Secrets of the Tomb: Skull and Bones, the Ivy League and the Hidden Paths of Power." But first, we turn to an interview that I did with Kevin Phillips, the author of “American Dynasty, Aristocracy, Fortune and the Politics Of Deceit in the House of Bush." When I asked him about the significance of that Yale secret society, Skull and Bones.
