BAGHDAD, Oct. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- A US report on Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction (WMD), which cleared Iraq of possession of such arms, triggered fiery condemnation among the Iraqis on Thursday.

The report, prepared after 1,200 inspectors headed by American chief weapon inspector Charles Dolfer conducted a 18-month search campaign, said that Iraq had no biological, chemical or nuclear weapons before the US occupation of the oil-rich Arab country.

The report virtually overturned the US pretext for invading Iraqin March 2003, igniting angry emotions among Iraqis, who also harbored hatred toward the occupation forces for the war andensuing chaos, destruction and bloodshed.

Many Iraqi believed that the report would not change anything in reality, rather it might even worsen the situation.

8. Well this takes away the final reason to go to war
"Saddam was a tyrant, but we didn't see in his era this killing and destruction," he added.

The world and Iraq are not safer now that Saddam is gone.

Oh I forgot the today's new reason, Saddam "intended" to build WMDs when the sanctions were lifed.

9. US report on Iraqi weapons deepens Arab hostility towards America: analyst
CAIRO (AFP) - A report by the chief United States weapons inspector in Iraq that the regime of Saddam Hussein was not actively pursing weapons of mass destruction has only helped deepen Arab hostility towards Washington.

Analysts and observers here said Thursday the report compiled by Charles Duelfer, the special CIA adviser proved the extent to which the United States was prepared to go in harassing Arab countries.

"All Arab and Muslim peoples are convinced that (US President George W.) Bush is persecuting Muslims and Arabs and is targeting only the Arab world," said Makram Mohammed Ahmed, editor-in-chief of the semi-official Al-Mussawar magazine.

The report also reinforces the feeling among many Arabs and Muslims that the "Americans can never be impartial, they can never be honest partners in the peace process or any political process for that matter," Ahmed added.

And this, he said, "increases tensions and hatred. The whole Arab world hates America and the Bush administration."

14. I never understood why terrorists attack innocents...
It's obvious that most Americans did NOT suppor this war, yet we are the ones who will be targeted by terrorists in retaliation for it. The people who profit from the war, who started the war, are insulated from the retribution.. while we are sitting ducks.

Terrorism does not work. It's the least effective way of instituting change. It's the response of those without a country or a military.. trying to take on those that have those things. Terrorism is a failed idea. Nothing has ever been achieved, truly by it, beyond settling a grudge, but there is nothing more to it.

Terrorism is highly illogical. And only makes life worse for the people on whose behalf the terrorists are attacking. Education, equality, and diplomacy are the way to stem terrorism. Zero tolerance and police action is the only way to respond to terrorism.

12. I guess the Iraqis now see that Saddam was more truthful than Bush.
Saddam kept saying that his weapons were destroyed after Desert Storm, they produced that huge document that the Bush administration deleted 8,000 pages from. Do you remember that? It's denial it's "de-lying." Bush had to stick to his story because to do otherwise will make his administration guilty of high crime and misdemeanors---treason.
