Asked about Iran and its weapons programme in a town-hall forum in the second of three presidential debates, Senator Kerry said Iran is ”a huge threat”.
“And what’s interesting is, it’s a threat that has grown while the president has been preoccupied with Iraq, where there wasn’t a threat,” Kerry said.
Kerry said Bush should have let U.N. weapons inspectors continue to do their work in Iraq so the United States “wouldn’t have 10 times the numbers of forces in Iraq that we have in Afghanistan chasing Osama bin Laden”.
