Bush broadens global gag rule on abortion, denies aid to some overseas gro

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP)

President George W. Bush ordered the State Department on Friday to withhold U.S. family planning help from overseas groups that promote or perform abortions with their own money.

The decision expands an order issued two years ago that applied only to family planning money administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development, a division of the State Department. ---

"At this time, the face of HIV-AIDS in Africa is a young woman, and family planning services are integral," said Terri Bartlett, vice-president of Population Action International, a research- based advocacy group in Washington. "They are all reproductive health-care services."

Said Gloria Feldt, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund: "The world's poorest women and their children again are bearing the brunt of Bush's obsession with appeasing his domestic political base. This is the real face of Bush's compassionate conservatism." ---

Dubya trusts this "God" fellow so much that no one else's opinion matters.

I think his "God" is a hallucination from his old drugs & drinking days.

Take back our country. Contact your legislators. Write a letter to the editor. Join every forum you can. Bush has no problem in keeping women barefoot and pregnant and producing a supply of minimum wage workers. None at all.

Rinse and repeat.

People will die die from HIV/AIDS without these programs. What gets me about the right and their way of thinking is that once a fetus becomes a person all "protection" for that child is out the window. It's hypocrasy to the ultimate level.

Yes, write your Senators and Congressmember. Write the White House. This is not something we should allow the administration to push through.

But I feel helpless to stop it. ;(
