Fox Disagrees With FCC Indecency Finding
WASHINGTON -- Fox Broadcasting Co. disagrees with a finding by federal regulators that an episode of "Married by America" was indecent, but isn't saying whether it will appeal a nearly $1.2 million fine.

The Federal Communications Commission said Tuesday that some of the material in the reality series, which featured male and female Las Vegas strippers in a variety of sexual situations, was indecent and patently offensive. The agency said it was designed to "pander to and titillate the audience."

FCC commissioners voted unanimously to fine each of the 169 Fox TV stations that aired the program $7,000. Fox has 30 days to appeal the fines, which total $1,183,000.

The fine is the heaviest ever levied against a television broadcaster. The previous record of $550,000 was levied against CBS last month for the Super Bowl halftime show last February that included a racy duet in which singer Janet Jackson's breast was briefly exposed.

1. Ahhhhh, to frigging bad. It's their boy bush*s FCC. If Faux gets let off
the hook then people better start screaming. We'll see how this turns out. But I hope they have to pay. This will totally screw up all the programming on that station. It's been soft porn for years. Hell, even the Simpson's may have to clean up their act.

2. god-damned FCC
i diskike fox, but the FCC i hate more, they should be limited to making sure actual murders and child porn are kept off the air and keep records and thats it, i'm tired of this "indecency" bullshit, it doesent offend everybody, ya know, and those that it DOES offend have the disney channel, and from 60 to 500 other channels they can watch

3. What's indecent is that it's PERFECTLY ok that strangers can marry each
other based on "votes" from people across america who couldn't care less about them, but my gawd.. don't let the gay people marry! must protect the "SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE".

5. Who'd a thunk. Hypocrisy from Faux
They whined and cried about the bearing of Janet Jackson's breast until the FCC fined the network and instituted new rules. Now when they get bit by the dog they bought, its whaaaaa, whaaaaa, whaaaaa. Too bad. When will these tighty whitey conservatives figure out that rules aren't just for the other guys.
