Bush: Kerry Too Liberal to Be President
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20041020/ap_on_el_pr/bush

How liberal is Sen. John Kerry? Too liberal even for Democratic states, according to President Bush.

The Republican incumbent, campaigning Wednesday in three Midwestern states he narrowly lost in 2000, cast the senator from Massachusetts as a pro-abortion, tax-raising, weak-on-defense liberal who is out of step with increasingly conservative values in middle America.

"He can try to run from his record and philosophy," Bush told a partisan crowd in this swing city, "but he cannot hide."

-snip-

It was unclear whether Bush's tactic would work in the region, where polls show the three races tied or Kerry slightly ahead.

"George Bush is clearly feeling pressure here, and what he's doing is using divisive rhetoric to try to win votes," said Kerry spokesman Phil Singer. "At the end of the day, people want to talk about issues, and George Bush is showing he has no way of doing that. John Kerry does."

"Bush is not trying to destroy Roosevelt's New Deal, he is trying to take America back to the Middle Ages when no distinction was made between capitalists, robber barons, profiteers and pirates.

For a guy with connections to British royalty, Bush has all the ethics of a Vik, or maybe a Rus. Hey, I say that with all due apologies to the affected barbarian clans.

20. They. Got. Nothing.
Running around calling Kerry "liberal" is not an effective campaign strategy. Too many Republican candidates have gone to that well too many times- voters are tired of hearing it.

If you're going to engage in name-calling, you need a constantly refreshed supply of new epithets.

For instance, imagine this headline:
Bush: Kerry Too Much of a Poo-Poo Head to be President.

Lee Atwater would be proud.

Does anyone know why it is when I visit all these Democratic blogs that they list all these obscure polls to point out that kerry has a lead. Yet when I watch Hardball or any other televised news show it's the complete oppossite?
Please don't say that Hardball is a conservatively skewed show, I am fairly sick of that from both sides talking about Liberal or Conservative media. I think Hardball is fairly down the middle most of the time and believe Chris Mathews really does try to keep an even hand.
Today I'd seen various statements on the web saying that Kerry has good leads in Battleground states. Yet I watch Hardball and see he's down. So who do I believe? Obviously biased Web Bloggers or Hardball?
The sites I reference are the Daily Kos, The Emerging Democratic majority, Talking Points, and Political Strategy.

Who knows? Zogby tend to be 'right' in most of time, he stated that Kerry is leading. Gallup stated that Bush/or Kerry is leading. *shrugs*

I personally don't trust Hardball or any but Zogby. You can try and wait until Nov 2 to find out who-who is leading for real. To be honest with you, I will not believe that Bush is leading, never did with his poor performances during these three years, I just don't see how he can win this election unless he cheat again.

63. I don' trust the polls either...
and I agree with all the above re "our fearless leader" but the election will be decided by who turns out their voters best. We need to invest our time and resources in this election. As they say in sports, Don't leave anything on the field.

Someone (P.T. Barnham?) said, "You'll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." That's apparently *'s cynical game plan. He'll target those who are uninformed, uncurious, and influenced by sound bites.

"George Bush is clearly feeling pressure here, and what he's doing is using divisive rhetoric to try to win votes," said Kerry spokesman Phil Singer. "At the end of the day, people want to talk about issues, and George Bush is showing he has no way of doing that. John Kerry does."

That is pretty obvious.. unfortunately that freepers seem couldn't see that. I pity them, I really do.

65. Compared to Bush, he is a conservative....
Bush is so far to the right of right, that in comparison to Bush, Kerry is honestly more of a conservative than George Bush. Bush is a 'Corporate Fascist' and Kerry is interested in restoring democracy to this once proud nation. Call me old fashioned and conservative, but I miss democracy. I miss having all of my civil rights, I miss our country being held in high regard by the entire rest of the world. I miss the good old days when we weren't invading small, weak nations to plunder their natural resources. I miss the days when we had an actual congress and a real Supreme Court.

I was hoping my son could experience all of those things that I took for granted, instead of having to have me tell him stories about the good old days.
