Grenade Attack Against Westerners in Kabul

KABUL, Afghanistan - An attacker threw a grenade at westerners on a street in downtown Kabul on Saturday, and several people were reported killed or wounded, police said.

An unnamed police officer at the scene said one western woman and two children were hurt in the attack. Another officer, Abdul Khaleeq Samani, said the attacker was killed, but it wasn't immediately clear how.

NATO-led peacekeepers said three explosions rocked the street at around 3:30 p.m., but had no immediate word on the cause or if anyone was hurt.

5. I heard more, tonight, on how unspeakably bad that it has gotten
I listened to a report by a journalist who, until recently, has been living in "The Green Zone" in Baghdad. He said that those there, who have seen what's taking place, first hand, just can't understand why there is still a dialogue about this in the U.S. He said that anything that has been attempted in Iraq has been a complete failure. This needs to be reported to the American people and we have to get out and bring peacekeepers in. We cannot do any good there, the hatred towards the occupation is just too intense.:-(

I wish that your friend can return from Iraq very soon. My friend also knows an 18-year-old who just got out, last week. He was just a scared kid in a foreign land. We don't need to send more troops, as has been proposed. We need to get out and admit that this was a botched effort, something I fear that the current ignorant and arrogant administration is not prepared to do. They are still calling it "a catastrophic success.";(
