Bush's Campaign Site Reported Blocking (of foreign vistors)
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=1963&e=10&u=/ap/20041027/ap_on_el_pr/britain_bush_web_site

U.S. President George W. Bush's official campaign Web site has blocked access to foreign Web surfers since Monday, an Internet monitoring company said Wednesday.

Netcraft, based in Bath in western England, said the site, www.georgewbush.com, "appears to be rejecting visitors from most points outside the United States, while allowing access from U.S. locations."

Netcraft did not report any reason for the blockage. "We can't say precisely, except that it seems to be a decision by the maintainers of the Web site," Rich Miller, an analyst at Netcraft, said in a telephone interview.

"Since Monday morning, requests to GeorgeWBush.com from stations in London, Amsterdam and Sydney, Australia have failed, while the four U.S. monitoring stations show no performance problems. Web users in Canada report they are able to visit the site," Netcraft said.

4. It is on BBC also
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3958665.stm

The blocking of browsers sited outside the US began in the early hours of Monday morning.

Since then people outside the US trying to browse the site get a message saying they are not authorised to view it.

The blocking does not appear to be due to an attack by vandals or malicious hackers, but as a result of a policy decision by the Bush camp.

7. LOL! that is actually funny!
I don't think they need to worry about high traffic volume. That is the least of their worries.

8. To conserve bandwidth, which costs money $$$
Why waste resources on people who
are mostly ineligible to vote?

Of course this dumb stunt only obscures
their message.

9. Block voter registration too
That was an article a few weeks ago, they blocked access to government sites telling overseas voters how to register. I don't know if they ever fixed it, too much shit happens with these people; you can't keep up.
