Man Accused of Trying to Run Down Harris

27 minutes ago U.S. National - AP

SARASOTA, Fla. - A man who told police he was "exercising my political expression" was arrested Wednesday on charges he nearly ran down Rep. Katherine Harris and a group of her supporters with his car.

Witnesses told police a silver Cadillac sped through an intersection and hurtled onto a sidewalk, heading straight toward Harris before swerving at the last minute and driving off.

The Republican congresswoman told police she froze with fear as the vehicle sped toward her Tuesday evening, authorities said.

"I intimidated them with my car," he was quoted as telling police. "I was exercising my political expression."

Am I wrong to like this guy a weee weee bit? I know I am, but I just think this might be a sign that people will riot or something if Bush gets elected. I too have felt this man's frustration. This entire administration has a vice grip on the people via fear and terror alerts. I am sorry if this is offensive, but a small part of me is glad that this woman felt fear for one second in her life, that she may know what she and her party spawn, feels like. I am glad he didn't kill her. I don't want republicans to die, just get out of power or see the light, and Vote Kerry.

3. I ain't got no problem with that
Sometimes ya gotta spell it out for folks who cross ya! Too much living in their ivory towers tends to make em clueless as to whats going on.

Now if he was to say, actually run em down, I don't go for that, thats crossing the line, ya know what I mean?

4. This is NOT the way to do it
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 04:45 PM by 0rganism
Intimidation, threats, and suppression of opinion are indecent, and should be relegated to the republicans who already do it so well. Not only is it unbecoming, leftists always fuck it up.

For example, if that had been a republican extremist at the steering wheel, and a liberal representative on the sidewalk, you would not have seen the word "swerving" in the article. For better and (mostly) for worse, republicans can be counted on to follow through on their threats.
