After discredited report, finger-pointing abounds inside Bush administrati
WASHINGTON (AP) The Bush administration is engaged in frantic finger-pointing as it tries to explain how its handling of faulty intelligence on allegations of Iraqi nuclear smuggling produced so few red flags.

''The continued finger-pointing, charge-countercharge and bureaucratic warfare within the administration do nothing to make this country safer and will simply further erode the confidence of the American public and our allies around the world,'' said John Kerry, one of the Democratic presidential hopefuls trying to capitalize on the dispute.

''Everyone is trying to evade responsibility,'' Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said in a telephone interview from Detroit. ''There is to me very disturbing evidence of deception somewhere. Where the deception is we don't know, but there is an inquiry going on.''

Larry Johnson (former CIA agent) was on CNBC tonight and he was livid. This doesn't look like its going away. I think their littly ploy may have failed to put the lid back on Pandora's box.

1. "Where the deception is we don't know." Sen Carl Levin (D- Mich).
Carl, what are you smoking? What ever it is, I want some. Must be some good shit to blind you like it has.

Where is the deception? Start at the top and work down. Bu$h and Cheney are major deceivers. Rummy, Rice and Powell are right up there too. Bust 'em!

3. OSP....CARL
stop covering for the OSP, the pentagon "intelligence unit", that produced all the bullshit fraudulent evidence.

This "Tenet takes the blame", not only isnt going to work, its going to royally piss off the CIA. Whistle Blowers are going to be coming out of the woodwork.

Wolfowitz and Rummy created their own "intelligence unit", the OSP, and Scooter Libby is the likely suspect who made sure the Niger Uranium forgery got placed in the SOTUS. The same Scooter Libby who was Marc Rich's attorney.

2. Kerry said WHAT!?!?!?
''The continued finger-pointing, charge-countercharge and bureaucratic warfare within the administration do nothing to make this country safer and will simply further erode the confidence of the American public and our allies around the world,''

What a crock of s**t!

Any "confidence" the American public and/or our allies have in this administration is insane! It needs to be allowed to erode.

I don't normally try to push my favorite Dem candidate at another candidate's expense, but this really got to me.

Dean's response to Bush & Co.'s lies from an e-mail I received yesterday:

Dear _____________,

In light of late-breaking events, I thought it was important that I write to you today.

It is now clear that there are those in this administration who misled the nation and misled the world in making the case for pre-emptive war.

They know who they are. And they should resign today.

Please join me in demanding that those responsible for misleading the American people resign by clicking on the link below:

http://www.deanforamerica.com/truth

In his State of the Union address, President Bush claimed that Iraq had attempted to purchase uranium in Africa for the production of nuclear weapons. We know now that the documents he relied upon to make that claim were forged.

Yesterday, in testimony before the Senate, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld made the stunning announcement that it was only "within recent days" (since the press had begun reporting it) that he learned about the forgery. Yet Secretary of State Colin Powell, in February, had enough reservations about the validity of the documents that he did not cite them in his presentation to the UN.

The American people must know the truth.

There will be investigations, and the truth will come out, and those in this administration must be held accountable for their failure to give us the truth before we went to war.

But we do not need to wait for the investigations to rid these people from our government -- they can resign on their own today. Call on those who misled the American people to resign today by clicking on the link below:

http://www.deanforamerica.com/truth

I am now convinced more than ever that it was a mistake to have given this administration a blank check to engage in this war -- as too many in Congress did when they supported the Iraqi war resolution.

Please forward this message on to everyone in your email list. Ask them to join us. We all must stand up and demand the facts from our government in Washington.

Howard Dean

Now that's Presidential material.
