Anti-insurgency hot line set up in Iraq
In its latest effort to throttle the tenacious insurgency plaguing Baghdad, the U.S. Army has set up a telephone hot line where Iraqis can phone in anonymous tips. "When you see this terrible insurgent about to do something, pick up your phone and call me. I'll do something about it," said Hammond, deputy commander of the 1st Cavalry Division. "We can fight this war together. You can help me fight — in secret."

"The choice is simple," Hammond continued. "You can choose the choice of the insurgent, which is death. Or you can choose the path of the interim government, which is life."

"I understand that you're scared. I'd be scared too," Hammond said. "But someone in Baghdad sees the insurgent, knows the insurgent. Tell me what it is you know."

The division has received as many as 30 calls per day since setting up the line two weeks ago. Not all phone callers are helpful. One bold caller last week declared he was a terrorist out to get Americans.

1. Not all phone callers are helpful
For some reason I would have to believe this is an understatement.

2. Oh goody!
The Iraqis are more savvy about Ameri"k"a marketing campaigns and strategies than the average American. They're not letting the wool be pulled over their eyes on this.

The fact is, "insurgencies" are not effective without local support.

3. I wonder if the U.S. Army had any help from Russia's former NKDV director
PUTIN in setting up the snitch line... he would have a great deal of experience at setting up such a thing and bush would most certainly welcome that experience and should his goons get him in for another interminable power grab the snitch line might well become one that he will put in place here for people to report any of their neighbors who happen to not be bush supporters.

Turn them in for weapons holding and have the USAF drop a 3000 pound laser guided bomb on their house and kill everyone inside it.

IE: How do you kill children???

Answer: Just aim a little lower

LOL ---What fools

5. How American...
And are there any incentives being offered by the occupiers for turning in any of the resistance?

6. Here's an even better idea
Why not just order all the insurgents to turn themselves in?

Yeah, that'll do it.

7. Do you mean to tell me
that after dropping so much ordinance on them that the Japanese living in Hiroshima felt they had been spared,
after all that SHOCK AND AWE,
after 12 whole years of the British and Americans continuously dumping Depleted Uranium upon their heads,
after the Gulf War attrocities such as the HIGHWAY OF DEATH,
and the Black Rose romper rooms of Abu Ghraib,
after all this,
AND MORE,
there is still
A) more than one person left alive in Iraq, and
B) THEY ARE FIGHTING BACK?

Well,
that's humanity for you.
