Bomb Threat Made To Central Phoenix Polling Place
Bomb Threat Made to Central Phoenix Polling Place
11/2/2004

By Associated Press

Bomb threats forced election officials to move one of their polling places in Phoenix today.

The calls involved Longview Elementary School at 12th Street and Indian School.

Phoenix police spokeswoman Sergeant Lauri Williams says three calls were made early today, making some kind of bomb threats.

She says police searched the school and didn't find anything.
Nevertheless, Maricopa County elections officials decided to move the voting to a nearby church _ the Phoenix Reformed Church.

Williams says school officials also decided to shut down Longview for the day.

State School Superintendent Tom Horne says students were taken to Montecito School after being evacuated from Longview.

2. When all else fails to prevent people from voting, force polls to move
very nice tactic, thugs. Don't suppose that will happen in any of the Phoenix precincts where the rich vote.

4. Maybe we knew...but it's getting scary.
They are like cornered rats and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near one of those desperate rabid swiss-cheese for brains idiots who thinks they are doing "God's" work or some such dribble. I want to see lots of arrests dammit.

9. Liberal
I used to live in Phoenix. That's a fairly liberal area.

The conservatives are all out in the suburbs.

11. Yup. Democrats 45%, Republicans 35%
Clearly left of the Arizona 'center' ... color me unsurprised that it would be a target.

6. It's awfully convenient for Tom Horne....
Guess this makes his 'extra security at school polling places' memo look real in the eyes of the public.
