Bush Hasn't Had Chance to Hug Father Yet

WASHINGTON -- A wistful President Bush said Thursday he had sent his father to bed early Wednesday morning, before the election results were conclusive, and so didn't get to see the "pride in his tired eyes" for winning the second term that eluded his father.

The first President Bush, who lost his re-election bid in 1992, was at the White House election night and met with his son in the Oval Office early Wednesday, but left for his home in Houston before Democrat John Kerry conceded.

"It wasn't clear at that point in time, so I never got to see him face to face to watch his, I guess, pride in his tired eyes as his son got a second term," the president said at a news conference. "I did talk to him, and he was relieved."

But, he said, "I haven't had time to visit and embrace" his father.

It's good for people to be aware just how low the press is getting in certain quarters. People should also be aware of the BS that Bush pushes, no matter how revolting. In general, it's good to keep up with the BS just like it is important to find out the real facts that are out there. Sometimes these stupid little pieces also reveal aspects of Bush and Co. that are totally glossed over elsewhere, thus making them valuable for insights into the Bush Machine.

That's just a few reasons off the top of my head.
