Students at Colo. high school protest Bush
ASSOCIATED PRESS

Nov. 5, 2004 | BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- About 85 high school students upset about the nation's direction were camping out in the school library, demanding an audience with Republican leaders.

Students began their protest Thursday and school officials said they could stay through Friday when representatives of their Democratic congressman, U.S. Rep. Mark Udall, and U.S. Senator-elect Ken Salazar, were expected to visit.

The students said they also wanted to meet with thier superintendent's representatives along with Republicans Gov. Bill Owens and U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave.

Some of the students left telephone messages with Republican leaders.

5. The youth vote rocks!
I'm so happy to see them staying engaged and angry. Hold those elected officials to the fire. Keep on organizing and stay together. Stay strong.

9. This is a good sign. Bush may want to rethink his "mandate". He
definately didn't get a mandate from the young people who are going to have to shoulder the burden of his misguided economic, environmental, and military/foreign policies. He ignores this at his peril.

If we're strong, we inspire young people, and Bush's policies will do nothing more than piss them off more. Go, youth! The revolution is coming!

Someone should get this story to Kerry and Edwards!

17. Thier loss
This is four years worth of people who will be voting in 2008. They cannot ignore the youth vote forever, especially when these are the kids who will be in college in the next election.
