Iraq's Falluja Finds Devastation After U.S. Raids
FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - The fiercest U.S. air and artillery bombardment of Falluja in months destroyed a hospital, a medical warehouse and dozens of homes overnight, residents said on Saturday.

Witnesses said U.S. air strikes and shelling lit up the night sky and shook the east and north of the rebel-held city.

A small hospital funded by a Saudi Arabian Islamic charity in the central Nazzal district was reduced to rubble. Only its facade, with a sign reading Nazzal Emergency Hospital, remained intact. Reuters pictures showed blue surgical cloths and empty medicine boxes amid earth and brick ruins.

A nearby compound used by the main Falluja Hospital to store medical supplies was also destroyed, witnesses said.

I'm to the point I don't put anything -- even the most barbaric of acts -- past our own government.

13. No, we are no longer
claiming to win their "hearts and minds." We are attempting to take the country by force, so we can set up a US run puppet government and establish military bases there.

It's about control of the Middle East and the oil resources.

The "liberate and spread democracy" bullshit was to get permission to go in and to get votes for a 2nd term. Don't need that now.

5. It is like bombing smoke. Crazy. Terror is abstract.
It is a belief not a man, house or gun. Kill one and two more pop up or have we got that right. More bombing from the terrorist since Bush came in than all the years before, with this group of terrorist. I think we need to stop and re-do the plans. Guess we need a poll on how many terrorist will sign up and how many we kill in this city and what the hell we will do with all the dead children.Oh yes I am so happy with the greatest country in the world bombing a third world city, starved for 12 years and bombed for another year, blown off the face of this earth. Oh yes it makes we glad to be an American.

big :grouphug: 's for the "democracy and freedoms" that we have given them", Bush said in a recently released movie "The Nightmare of the World".

<sarcasm> OFF!

I live in Rutland, Vermont. Yesterday, after I had left work early, I stopped at a small group of people at an "anti-war" assembly which was located at the corner of RT #7 and RT # 4. I went over to talk and give some support in mulling around for about 15 minutes. It was a group of about 8-9 people, most of them 45-50 and up in years. I had a conversation with a "Korean Police Action" veteran for a while. We pretty much agreed that the collateral "DAMAGE" had been about 100,000 lives. What the real numbers are, no one knows, after Vietnam, the military doesn't do "body counts" !

One way or another the US will pay for the killing of Iraqi civilians.

When you go to sleep tonight Bush supporters remember that the financial system that props up your war machine is rotting beneath your feet.

On edit - Dems if you really want to screw this administration consider putting some of your money in Euro's , the Yen, gold or silver. You will almost certainly make a profit and you will help to precipitate the dollar crisis that is going to be the major theme of Bush's second administration. In case you are worried about seeming unpatriotic remember that some of the GOP own financial backers in big business are already making this bet against the house.

16. It's deja-vu all over again.
I seem to recall a photo of a little napalmed girl running and screaming with all her clothes burned off; I think that was some 35 years ago. Weren't we going to stop doing stuff like that?

I guess not.

18. 12,000 Iraqi's camping out (refugees)
A city leader, Sheikh Khaled Hammud, launched an appeal for emergency aid for some 12,000 people camped in an area called Habbaniyah, to the west of Fallujah.

"We need tents, medical aid, two ambulances, mattresses, food rations, water pumps and drinking water," he wrote in a letter to the Committee of Muslim Scholars, an influential religious group.

22. Why are we destroying hospitals, medical warehouses, and homes in Iraq?
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 07:16 PM by Barkley
Destroy their infrastructure in 1991
We starved them with sanctions 1991 - 2003
Bombed them with shock and awe, killing 100,000 2003-04
Captured their leader and installed ours 2003
Somomized and tortured them in prisons 2004

And now we're destroying their homes

Who the hell do we think we are!?!?!?!
