Fired Missile Closes Baghdad Airport

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Baghdad's international airport was closed to military traffic Tuesday after a missile was fired at a transport plane, U.S. officials said.

The C-130 plane dropped chaff defenses that diverted the shoulder-fired missile, the officials said.

The airport was closed to civilian traffic Sunday under a state of emergency declared by the Iraqi government. However, the order did not apply to military traffic.
