Get ready for more Moore
GOOD MORNING: Michael Moore met with Harvey Weinstein and Moore says they plan to start working -- now -- on "Fahrenheit 9/11½." "We want to get cameras rolling now and have it ready in two-three years," Moore says. "We want to document and commercialize it. Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information (in this election) and we want to educate and enlighten them. They weren't told the truth. We're communicators and it's up to us to start doing it now. The official mourning period is over today and there is a silver lining -- George W. Bush is prohibited by law from running again." And as for those who claim that Hollywood was an albatross on the Democrats' neck, Moore says, "America loves Hollywood. When given a chance to vote for someone from Hollywood, they jump in." He cited the history of successful Republican actor-politicians from George Murphy to Ronnie Reagan to Arnold. "Who is the Democrats' Arnold? We have a number of them. What American wouldn't vote for Tom Hanks (news)? Hollywood is full of people like that." When I asked what actor would trade a $20 million salary and a percentage of the gross, he countered with "Let's pay the actor-politicians a presidential salary of $20 million -- plus a percentage of the GNP." He says "Hollywood gets a chance for one more vote this year": Moore and Harvey are going ahead on the Oscar campaign for "Fahrenheit 9/11" in best picture and other applicable categories. Harvey told him, "Let's do it. And I said 'whatever Harvey wants, I'm ready.'"…

1. Yeah, Michael!
If anyone in this country had a brain - he'd be president. I saw him speak, and there is no one who has more passion and who is more articulate, and he's the person who is most dedicated to the troops.

An albatross around the Democrats' neck, my hiney. He motivated thousands to vote for Kerry.

We lost because 59M Americans need badly to go to an education camp. Not that Bush would ever allow them to find out about Plame, etc. on a mass basis.

13. Yes! Much Moore to the point...
2-3 and a half years? Is he crazy? Does he think he'll still be able to show such a movie then?

6. Astounding to see the replies from people to this story.
Such balls-out hatred! Sheesh! Do they even hear themselves?

Well... when the elderly find their prescriptions getting more expensive, not cheaper; when the Farm Belt finds its farm subsidies compromised (and more farms have to shut down and families are forced to abandon their small communities and relocate to those big, mean, evil cities they detest; when programs such as the Tennessee Valley Authority and others from which they directly benefit; when more of their hospitals and clinics have to close, and they can't get medical care at all (never mind the health insurance crisis they'll face); when they see their towns dying and more people losing their homes and their life savings evaporate because the final safety net of Social Security has been fatally compromised (while the wealthy investors and stock manipulators get wealthier); when the Bible Belt finds schools getting worse, and then closing faster; when the brain drain hits Middle America smack in the face, and all the research, development, scientific strides, progress, and JOBS it produces evaporate; when our country's standing in the world drops because our jobs have gone overseas, the jobs that are left don't pay well and include no benefits, and there's no safety net anymore; when the innovations all start coming from India, France, China, and other countries not shackled to the dictates of the "we must teach creationism in science class" crowd; when they suddenly realize there is NO ONE any longer, in any large numbers able to speak for them and help them out and look out for their basic needs (but the big corporations and campaign contributors are swimming in champagne and caviar; when most of the industrialized world moves ahead of us, while we insist on remaining mired back in the 13th century, THEN will they start waking up?

Something the dreaded Ralph Nader said awhile back just clangs in my ear constantly these days. He said conditions were just going to have to get REALLY horrid here in America before it begins to dawn on some people that they've been voting all wrong. I'm thinking he's correct.

7. Love MM, but STOP SAYING Bush won. He did NOT win and we cannot grant

credit to a lie, and where the truth is do. Whats the saying, if you say a lie long enough, people will think it is true. What is true is that George Bush and Dich Cheney have stolen this White House twice now.

Michael Moore is doing terrific things, but when he allows a lie, like George Bush has legitimately won either election to be perpetuated, it further emboldens a dishonest, immoral group that engaged in massive fraud.

It also paints a perception of legitimacy with this crew in the White House who have stolen and forced themselves on us again and in our White House. We cannot allow perceptions like "yeah okay he won. NO he didnt, win." where we should be painting the truth.

17. I don't know about this....
We're not done with this election, just yet. Moore's cameras should be on the vote irregularities and other weirdness we have witness in the past week. As for actors, WHAT QUALIFIES AN ACTOR TO BE PRESIDENT? Aren't we sick of puttpets?

19. Can information successfully counter misinformation?. . . .
especially when the electorate is barraged by distortions, lies, deceit? Especially to the tune of Republicans outspending Democrats 3-1 during the last few weeks of the campaign on stupid TV ads that the gullible fall for. That's a helluva lot of misinformation that the truth can get buried under.
