Moore to shoot sequel to 'Fahrenheit'
http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movies/11/11/film.fahrenheitfollow.ap/index.html

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Michael Moore plans a follow-up to "Fahrenheit 9/11," his hit documentary that assails President Bush over the handling of the September 11 attacks and the war on terrorism, according to a Hollywood trade paper.

Moore told Daily Variety that he and Harvey Weinstein, the Miramax boss who produced the film, hope to have "Fahrenheit 9/11 1/2" ready in two to three years.

________________________________________________________________

I was hoping his next film would be about black box voting.

I mean nothing helps Democracy burn like a stolen election. It follows that a good chunk of the sequel will be about exactly that.

Still, a worthy effort.

19. A friend of mine went to a showing
he and his wife and another couple went to a double bill -- Fahrenhype and Stolen Honor. He said there were 16 people there (not counting then and the projectionist).

Very weak arguments about the Taliban not permitting kite flying (in Baghdad?) so a lot of nonsense talking points, lacking any real context.

Just more right-wing mouth-foam.

49. Yeah
I saw parts of it. They managed to reproduce the weaknesses of Moore's film and magnify them a hundred times over, and had none of the strengths. I was gratified to see what a POS it was.

BTW, if anyone is interested in seeing that and dozens of other films on such topics, the usenet group alt.binaries.documentaries is regularly deluged with left, right, and "other" propaganda films. If you have a premium service with monthlong retention like Easynews you can probably snag a couple of dozen films about recent politics from there.

In addition to the lefty stuff like Uncovered and F911, and the righty stuff like Hype, there are a lot of sometimes interesting, sometimes idiotic conspiracy theory films posted there.

I believe that being the "anti-Bush" is Mike's god given purpose in life...

God actually told this to me....

See, like our leader, I am also the father of twin girls and I am going through the same extreme sleep deprivation that Dub-ya did. And like Dub-ya, I am also now hearing the voice of God, and it is telling me three things...

1. Michael Moore has been given Quest from God to expose and bring down the Administration...

2. I made Arnold Governor to be a sleeper in the Conservative movement. I mean come on, he's a social liberal and married to the Kennedy's. Good thing the Right is not too Bright...

3. Global warming is a good thing. Think of how much easier it will be to get your shipments of Vodka, Caviar and Russian Teenage Tennis Players/Models when the polar ice cap melts...

Goooo Mikeeeeee...

It is my understanding the anyone can attend conventions. You just have to get there early enough to get a seat. I suspect he just wanted to be there to make them nervous. I myself intend to attend the DNC in 08. Probably not as a delegate, although that would be nice. I probably wont get that lucky.:dem:

35. That may have been true at one point in history...
But not anymore.

You have to have some kind of credentials (elected official, press, state delegation, honored guest (i.e., big money donor), employee, or volunteer).

My understanding is that Moore had press credentials for the Repub Con.

I was a volunteer at the DNC in LA in 2000 and the security was ridiculously tight then. I can't imagine what it was in Boston or NY with the bs orange alerts!

20. Here's Hoping Moore Won't Pull Back on the Damaging Barbara Bush Quote.
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 04:12 PM by David Zephyr
On March 18, two days before the U.S. invasion, Barbara Bush had an interview with ABC-TV's Diane Sawyer.

''Why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it's gonna happen?'' Mrs. Bush declared. ''It's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?'' http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0905-04.htm

Michael Moore, a great American patriot, at the last minute seemed to have pulled back and deleted these most insensitive words by Barbara from his film.

Yet, ever since the release of Fahrenheit 9/11, Old Man Bush has been slandering Michael Moore for "telling lies about the Bush family".

Well, Michael...if you are reading this by any chance, don't hold back this time. Tell the truth about the Bush Family. Let Barbara Bush's words ring loudly in your sequel.

So is she comparing herself to like, John Nash or something? I mean really, I'm not going to say she's ugly, but I don't think that Stepford puppet qualifies her MIND to be beautiful. After all, she married *. How beautiful can that mind be?

41. They will act more effectively
to crush this project than they did last time, count on it. Moore was clever and well advised as he maneuvered through the corporate distribution and production minefield. This one may have to go overseas for all of that and will be a hard DVD to find over here.

Or they might not even care. Whichever you find scarier.

45. Healing?
That's too bad. This country needs to heal more than ever right now, and this will only make it worse. Mike is a gifted filmmaker, but he also is a gifted businessperson. He knows that he can't sell movies without hamming up the film content and getting the viewer emotionally involved. Comments like "51 percent of the country was not informed during this election. We need to enlighten them" sums up the biggest problem our party is facing today. And it's comments like that that got out the extra votes for Shrub Head!!!!!!

48. Heal? You mean--unite?
You mean--give Bush & Co everything they want? Sorry, no. Read up on the concept of "opposition".

I welcome all new DU'ers, but there is a different, distinctive subset of newbie. They appear to have joined just to shut us up & are always concerned for the good of "our" party. Common themes:

1) The election was not stolen. Shut up & move on. (An oldie from 2000, newly revived.)

2) Michael Moore drives away moderates & gains Republican votes. (They also inform us he's rich.)

Their contributions are also welcome because they delineate the issues most worrisome to Republicans. Therefore, we'll continue to get to the bottom of BBV & gladly patronize Michael's next project.

Please, tell us what else is really bothering you.

Earlier in the year I read that Moore next planned a movie to take on HMO's. Anyone hear if this is still being planned, or if this F 911 sequel will be done instead?

(As much as I like the idea of another movie taking on Dubya, he'll be gone in four years, but I fear I'll have to put up with garbage from HMO's well beyond that. I was looking forward to Moore doing a movie on them.)

religious frauds, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and the rest of their ilk. Now, there's a film that should be made; exposing their opulent lifestyles and then show the lifestyles of the people who are sending them money - that would be an eyeopener that needs to be put out there.

57. I can't believe what some of you are saying!!
Mike is a courageous guy who stands up for the little guy in all sorts of stuff and against Bush was the hardest. So what even if it turns out we lost because of it. That is like saying you would rather win at ANY cost?? Are you guys saying really saying on this site that you would rather turn into "mini lite repubs" than hold fast to our beliefs??

No wonder my husband wants nothing to do with the dems any more. He says they are all pussies.

I have been reading the site to get over my depression and anger and it angers me even more every time I read a thread where people say we have to lean their way to win. If that is what it takes we should succeed! I am NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT going to give up my beliefs because a lot of brain washed people in america think they can tell us how to believe or behave.

I am going to fight for what is right for the environment, for equal justice for all, for separation of church and state and I am NOT NOT NOT going to give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
