http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_world_business/view/116816/1/.htmlLONDON : Reuters journalists in Britain are considering a strike in protest at a cut in the editorial budget that staff fear may lead to up to 250 job losses in the news division.
The British news and financial information provider has postponed the introduction of a multi-million pound editorial system and ordered editorial costs to be cut by 22 million pounds (31 million euros, 41 million dollars), according to the Guardian newspaper.
Reuters journalists believe the cost cuts equate to the loss of up to 250 jobs from the news division -- which employs 2,300 people -- but Reuters executives insist the reduction will not be on that scale, the paper said Friday.
