Intelligence Reform Looks Like a Lame Duck for Now
Note to Democrats: Seize this and run with it as long as humanly possible--and then some!

<snip>
Despite his public support for restructuring the nation's intelligence community, President Bush has done little to ensure that reforms modeled on the recommendations of the bipartisan Sept. 11 commission pass in the coming lame duck session of Congress.

And the legislation, which has run into stiff opposition from the Defense Department, is thought to have little chance of passage when a new Congress begins work next year.

3. The Dems should beat him up about this.
Bush is endangering our lives because he's afraid to stand up to bureaucrats--bureaucrats!

4. This is the same prez that stone walled every...
investigation, probe or reform in to his admin or gov't agency. He only changes his mind when he sees it become a political liability. Well folks, he's in his, hopefully, last four years and guess what? He doesn't give a shit. Never has, never will, only now he can be obvious about it.
Now that the repukes have more power then before, did you really, honestly, think that this would go forward? What happened to Plame? What about chaney's energy meetings?

...and the beat goes on...
