Fort Bragg Troops Train For Homeland Security Mission

NEW YORK -- The traditional image of the military is troops going overseas.


Spc. David Millburn was part of a group of Fort Bragg soldiers who recently trained for a homeland security mission.


But, now more than ever, troops train to go anywhere -- even inside the United States.

Just this week, Fort Bragg soldiers ran a rare training exercise in New York.

The group of soldiers flew to New York to train for a fictional scenario in which terrorists plan to strike the West Point Military Academy, the place where future Army leaders train.

Once the Fort Bragg troops landed, the commanders were briefed. They predicted what fictional enemies might do, and how they might do it.

who is a reservist out of Bragg. He's deploying to Iraq Dec. 12 for an 18 month tour.

But, those guys are in the HS loop. They provided security for the G8 summit this year in Georgia.

This is absolute bullshit. Homeland security has no reason to use soldiers within the United States EXCEPT against angry US citizens.

There will NEVER be terrorist troops storming West Point. But there MIGHT be anti-war protestors swarming the place.

They are being trained to kill their neighbors and friends.

if the troops don't want to kill their friends and neighbours,the chip in their brain will deal with that small problem.I'm not saying they are "chipped" right now,but that technology IS out there.Whats harder to do rape and torture children or kill fellow Americans???
