(Thousands of) Protesters (in Bahrain) rap attack on Fallujah
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 11:32 AM by Tab
Thousands of people yesterday rallied all over Bahrain in mass demonstations to protest against the US-led assault on Fallujah and several other Iraqi cities.

The move follows calls from several clerics and scholars to take to the streets and voice solidarity with Iraqi people.

The protesters condemmned the brutal American policies in Iraq and the random massacre of civilians.

The rallies started from the mosques, following the Friday prayers and sermons.

Thousands also staged a silent vigil near the Islamic Society headquarters in Arad and elsewhre in a show of solidarity with the Iraqi people and pay homage particularly to heroic Fallujians.

1. Um ... Bahrain is an independent country.
The Saudi monarchy almost certainly supports the Bush family empire and would squelch any anti-Bush uprising at this point. The people of Bahrain are more free.

3. Bahrain is not in Saudi Arabia
Bahrain is an independent island nation that can be reached from Saudi Arabia via causeway. The causeway is packed on Wednesday evenings (beginning of the weekend) and Friday evening (end of weekend) by expatriates living in S.A. and going to Bahrain to drink and whore, as alcohol is legal there. Typical vehicle checks on re-entry involve searching wheel rims and windshield wiper vats for illegal booze.

5. Thanks for the welcome, SiJP
Yes, I've sampled all of the pleasures of Bahrain, including smuggling JW Black during the year I spent in Jubail, S.A.

6. Hi TR Fan, I too have enjoyed Bahrain...
a long time ago - well, 1988-1991. I probably helped you smuggle that Johnny Walker over the causeway. :-)

I miss those days. Not really. :-)
