Relief Convoy Said Turned Back in Fallujah
Monday November 15, 2004 11:46 AM

GENEVA (AP) - A relief convoy of ambulances and supplies Monday was turned back by Iraqi authorities or U.S. Marines from entering Fallujah, a spokesman for the international Red Cross said.

Ahmed Rawi, the Baghdad spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross, said the Iraqi Red Crescent convoy of four ambulances and four trucks carrying supplies reached Fallujah General Hospital on the outskirts of the city, but was unable to go further.

The Red Crescent and Red Cross have been unable to gain access to people inside Fallujah during more than a week of fighting between U.S. and Iraqi government forces and insurgents.

The hospital itself was well-supplied, because no patients or wounded people have been able to reach it from the embattled city, Rawi said.

2. We do not want those bad doctors telling us people got hurt
The US is the only one that can do the counting. Course it will be all over the world before the week is out and will make us look even more heartless. Who runs this thing? It does seem they will do it their way even if it seem so foolish. I just do not get it.

5. and the US Marine Gen. Natonski...says there is no crisis
The U.S. Marine general who commanded the fight to take Falluja said those who remained were the rebel hard core who would be killed. There was no aid crisis in the city, he said.

"What you're seeing now are some of the hard-liners, they seem to be better equipped than some of the earlier ones, we've seen flak jackets on some of them," Major General Richard Natonski told the BBC. "But we're more determined and we're going to wipe them out," he said.

So everyone that's left in the city has been declared a hardliner?? dear god.... :(

6. Iraqi Red Crescent convoy abandons effort to enter Fallujah
BAGHDAD (AFP) - A convoy of aid from Iraq's Red Crescent withdrew from a hospital on the edge of Fallujah after failing to get permission to deliver supplies to residents inside the city, a spokeswoman said.

The trucks laden with food, water and medical supplies would travel instead to villages around Fallujah where tens of thousands of people have set up camp after fleeing the massive week-old offensive spearheaded by US marines, said Red Crescent spokeswoman Ferdus al-Ibadi.

"They are withdrawing, they did not get permission (to enter further into Fallujah) and they will deliver supplies to the surrounding area," Ibadi said.

The Red Crescent fears that civilians are dying of starvation and a lack of medical equipment inside Fallujah, which has been the scene of ferocious fighting pitting US and Iraqi government troops against militants.

But military officials argue that everything is being done to treat residents and that only a small number of civilians were caught in the crossfire.

"We did our best and we cannot do anymore," Ibadi told AFP, noting that the 15 Red Crescent staff with the convoy had spent two days trying to persuade US commanders to give them the green light to move freely through Fallujah.

8. Another example of war crimes being committed!
To refuse entry of the Red Crescent bringing aid is a breach of international law. The bush admin will pay for this, maybe not right now but, eventually, they will be brought to account.

9. bushie has never had to suffer the consequences of his actions
These are the major "mistakes" -- AWOL -- drug use -- stock market insider trading -- people are serving jail time for these offenses.

Anyone of these would have sunk a non-bush and excluded election to high office.

Now he intends to "pacify" a nation (for the oil) by any and all means at his disposal. Meanwhile he is telling everyone that all is well in Iraq -- and my guess is that the news of the reality of what is happening in Iraq doesn't make it on the MSM.

He is someone totally devoid of empathy for the suffering of others -- and he has caused the death of thousands because he is a LIAR. Great message for children -- lying gets you ahead in life.

Now his mafia has stolen another election -- they stole from all the people who worked so hard to get out the vote (while the GOPigs worked to block the vote) -- they stole from people who waited in lines for hours to votes (now the bush gang is claiming those votes as his).

It is hard for me to see how this administration will someday have to suffer the consequences of their actions -- I hope they do -- I hope that there is some fairness in this world.
