Group faults Bush's visit to Nigeria
NETWORK for Justice, a civil society group in Kano, has faulted the state visit to Nigeria by President George W. Bush of United States, declaring that it amounted to a show of misplaced solidarity to the Obasanjo administration.

A statement by Comrade Sadiq Isah Radda on Thursday maintained that "the visit manifests a show of solidarity to a government yet to know its fate based on the on-going cases on the elections in the courts."

"The Network for Justice like many other groups monitored the elections and came to the conclusion that the results lacked the barest minimum standard to make it legitimate and acceptable."

The group said the visit of Bush to Nigeria was unnecessary and therefore unwelcome. "This is essential because since 1999, matters were made worse by civilian dictatorship and official corruption," Sadiq alleged.
