Our chat in Iraq, strange but true (Australian)
(Senator Lightfoot) told me he had brought $25,000 into northern Iraq, acting in an informal courier role for Woodside (Petroleum); he who said the money had been handed over; he who encouraged me, in his usual charmingly maladroit fashion, to leak this dramatic news.

In fact, Senator Lightfoot told me much more on that grey morning, as the security agents and Kurdish soldiers milled about in the palace lobby close by.
